young plants in hydro can be full of shit, they harden off over time as long as you don;t get things too wrong.

First of all not so sure it's cal Def. But could be. There is 2 things you can try. Also they are looking a little over watered. Coco ones u can cut back on the water a little. Also they look a little hungry. So more ferts, but over water can make them look like that. The dwc one could be lack of oxygen showing signs of over water. How much bubble action do u have going ? Lastly Calc. Gets uptake more in the range of 6.1-6.3 ph in dwc and just a tad higher in coco maybe 6.3-6.5 ph. Let your ph swing a little between 5.5-6.5 to get all avaliable nutrients. As well you can foliar spray Calc ph'd to 7.2 and leaves can up take it. But keep in mind it'll be the new growth u keep an eye on for healthy leaves. The effected leaves will not recover.
It was root rot

In the coco too?!? I don’t grow coco or hydro but they don’t look like root rot imo but…..

It looks like to me they are over fed, in some pictures you can tell the leaves are burning, especially in Picture 6. IMG_20220310_190810.jpg.
All you have to do is look at the burnt leaf tip in picture 6 and you will see what I mean, it is over fed. Either that or possibly overwatered and/or both.

I thought coco can’t be overwatered at that size?
maybe left in runoff?

They can plus the rockwool those plants are in can hold a lot of water as well. In a couple of photos the rockwool looks like it's covered in algae and some on top of the coco as well. Like a swamp.
