I’m a Californian and i vote NO on prop 19. If any of you people from another state read the ballot measure in its entirety you'd have voted no as well.
Section 11310 Commercial Regulations and Controls
(g) Prohibit and punish through civil fines or other remedies the possession, sale, possession for sale, cultivation, processing or transportation of cannabis that was not obtained lawfully from a person pursuant to this section or section 11300. (ie home growers will get taxed if we share our shit with our friends)
(k) Appropriate taxes of fees pursuant to Section 11302 (just wait to you read that part)
(m) Any other appropriate controls necessary for protection of the public health and welfare (ANY? really? you want me to vote yes to give any amount of control necessary to the government? are you out of your fucking mind?)
Section 11302 Imposition and Collection of Taxes and Fees
(a) Any ordinance, regulation, or other act adopted pursuant to Section 11301 may include the imposition of appropriate general, special or excise, transfer or transaction taxes, benefit assessments, or fees, on any activity authorized pursuant to that enactment, in order to permit the local government to raise revenue, or to recoup any direct or indirect costs associated with the authorized activity, or the permitting or licensing scheme, including without limitation: administration; applications and issuance of licenses or permits; inspection of licensed premises; and other enforcement of ordinances adopted under Section 11301., including enforcement against unauthorized activates. (Again the use of the word ANY, way too much power given to the local authorities to tax and control)
The way Cannabis is in CA is the way it should be. Go see a fucking Dr if you have an ailment. Get an Rx, get it validated by the Department of Public Health and you can do as you please with Cannabis. Prop 215 all the way!!

I have all the freedom in the world right here. I have 12 foot tall plants in my backyard. The police don't care, they know about it. You can smell it driving by. I live in the middle of the city. The beach is 2 miles away. There isn't open land for at least 30 miles from here. Unless it's desolate and was a former landfill. My biggest problem is people too unwilling to grow their own jumping my fence stealing my plants. That's the worst tax i think...

i found it too blurry. too many open ends for confusion and misinterpretations by the courts and the cops. there was no reason for it to be so confusing.
i don't think people succeed in life by accepting what they can get today in hopes of fixing it tomorrow. i think there are much better ways to succeed. ways that will benefit everyone.

There should be the med side for those who need to use it for meds.....and then there should be the LEGAL side for all to use as they want just like ALcohol. Here is my point. I suffer from Migranes. So I could very well get a card. But I dont think people should have to abuse that side of the system. Dont you see that is a magor issue with the med side of things. It is being abused. People who are against legal point to this very issue as to why it shouldnt be legal. Set it up correctly and you dont have that problem.

prop 215 was INTENTIONALLY written so ANYONE could qualify. there really is NO abuse.

What I mean by abuse is for rec use and not med use. Just because you have a "script" does not mean you need it really for med reasons. 215 is for Med use. I fully support and agree with that. I just dont think you should need a script for it though. You should have both. Not one or the other. Sorry little high FDD I hope that made sence.

It's only about 200 bucks a year then and you can do as you please with your medication. It is not taxed, it is not controlled. Learn to use the system in the way it was set up. It is not abuse if you are suffering in any way shape or form. It was written that way.

Who is to determine what You need for Your medical needs? A Dr right? he gives you an Rx. I think you'd rather take cannabis in pill form from Dow/Merc/Phizer. When that day happens, then we'll really see prohibition. Smoking it will be illegal seriously.

I just think it looks bad for the med side is all. Yes there are those that truely need it. I am all for it. I just think it should be legal period. I have no issues paying taxes on and not going to jail or getting a fine or any other shit. IT IS A plant after all.
