not at all, i have intelligent political debates with friends and family all the time. It can get a bit heated sometimes, but it usually remains friendly enough. Usually people start to feel cornered when they are uneducated on a subject and tend to get defensive. It's a natural human reaction. We all want to think we know everything.

I agree whole heartedly. I meant in the political forum at RIU. I try to have, have tried to have, intelligent political debates in the RIU political forum but am routinely attacked by a mob of unruly libs, at every turn it seems. I decided to resort to vigilantism. Its not the most productive form of communication, but it sure is fun.
