Dude who's hardline on his hatred of 'Scotts' can't even be bothered to know the basics of the situation. But sure we're the evil ones.Monsanto does not own Scotts. Monsanto is owned by Bayer and Scotts is a publicly traded company. The Monsanto/Scotts relationship is from Scotts being the exclusive distributor of RoundUp which is manufactured by Monsanto.
This come up time and time again. The fact is that Scotts Miracle-Gro is not owned by Monsanto.

When I use chemicals, which is most of the time.
I use Calcium Nitrate for my Calcium, and Nitrogen sources, and Epsom Salts for my Magnesium, and Sulfur source.
Magnesium is the #1 container garden deficiency. Weed eats Magnesium, like Popeye eats spinach.
I feed with Epsom Salts at every feeding. I actually feed small amounts at every watering. I use Promix BX as my medium.
I feel its easier to use calcium nitrate, and epsom salts vs calmag. I use a 4-20-39 base formula, then add 15.5-0-0 Calcium Nitrate, and then epsom salts. Ill add a small amount of Monopotassium Phosphate in weeks 2.5-6 on an 8 weeks flowering strain, and then cut it back by 40% the last 2 weeks before chop.
Calcium Nitrate is 26.5% Calcium.
