Calyxes MIA

I have a ~ 220w led tent and a ~ 400 hot5 tent

Same strain, but different phenos in each

LED tent is all white leds- a mix of 5000/3500/3000K.

I have done several grows using all whites, but < 200w, with no issues other than semi-airy

Buds are almost ready to harvest. I was looking closely through a mag glass yesterday and noticed virtually no calyxes

Tons of calyxes under the hot5s

Here's where the problem may lie

About 4 weeks ago I mixed fresh nutes and over-dosed with Sea Crop minerals (~ 30%). Primary leafs quickly mottled and turned crispy.

This is about the time calyxes should have developed, but didn't. I was more concerned about the clones recovering than looking for calyxes.

So, is the over dosing with minerals the likely cause of no calyxes?

Nuggz are rock hard, with lots of trics

wow , you fried them I dont think you can save them at this point . I did the same thing to one of mine at the start of flower and stunted her.

Besides the horrible burn and deficiencies/lockout
Why are there no lower buds..I would cry if my plants looked like that..8in of stem been stripped and mutilated leaving tiny top nugs

Well every light has a sweet zone where optimum lumens reside to power buds, below which leads to small airy buds

I just took 2 of the low hanging fruit branches, trimmed and weighed one was 3gms, the other 9 grams. Not terrible

Now, I was a bit late to adding the Cube, whose horizontal rails act like a scrog net.

The big problem was burning them hurt bud size/weight

Here's my 2 larger pheno clones under ~ 400w hot5 using a variety of aquarium bulbs

Notice the mottled leafs are also from the same mineral OD, but this rez has twice the volume

Well there is nothing that can be done about it now, it takes leaves to grow flowers. Might as well chop those. I would like to suggest that your next run you train them to stay short, like under a foot. Your lighting only provides adequate light in the first 6-8" under the bulb so why not get the most you can from that rather than growing plants as though you had unlimited light from the sun. Basically grow a ScrOG without the screen by topping early on and bending your mains down horizontal until the end of the stretch.

Did you not read my last post? 3rd sentence: 'Now, I was a bit late to adding the Cube, whose horizontal rails act like a scrog net.'

Yes I read it which is why I suggested what I did. You put that "cube" around your plants to act like a scrog. I was pointing out that you spent the time and money to grow your plants tall this time. My suggestion was to spend that time making them wide instead since your lights have a limited sweet spot. Scrog requires room under the screen but if you just train the plants to stay flat you don't need a screen and you can leave the leaves alone. That's all I was suggesting. Other than that if you don't chop those plants down they will stay alive and mature, but you wont grow new leaves. Also you may have male flowers show up which doesn't mean shit as long as you don't mind a few seeds.

One down, one to go. Will chop it at days end

FYI, I placed my large oxystone cylinder directly under each plant.

Incomplete notes. I have a thread on another grow site, but they put me in time out for defending RIU. Such pettiness

Started clones 11/6

Cut lights to 13hrs 12/31

These are F1 short phenos. Same seeds also produced 5ft+ tall plants. I kept these for my 5ft tent

Curious how long you vegged for....

Pulled the other clone

Had no idea she was almost 5xs as heavy - 101gms trimmed

Root ball is actually a light cream color

Those are some great roots, if i was able to pay attention for more than 30 seconds at a time I'd run hydro just for that reason there!

It's super easy. These were in a simple 4 airstone bubbler Wallyworld tote.

One stone under each net pot, the other two just making DO

I mix enough nutes for the week.

Each day check water level and top off. Dump nutes weekly

Hydroponic Research V + B formula is pH stable, and rocks the nuggz
