Can a femanized seed produce a male plant?

Ok so I germed these seeds about 5 weeks ago. Made of Honor strain from Twenty20 Mendocino. Supposed to be some fire.

This is my first ever experiance with femanized seeds, so im kinda in the dark. Got two plants going both 5th week of veg, and still no signs of pre sex...I mean these plants are on their seventh internode, and still nothing.

What I do know from experiance with regular photo seeds, is that one of the plants is growing with all the tell tale signs of being a boy. I've notived the males tend to grow taller with less branching so they can get that pollen over the ladies. I know thats not always the case, but many times I have seen this.

Also usually with regular seeds the plants start to show sex by now. Do fem seeds take longer to show? I have another strain going (THC Bomb) that are the same age and both those plants have shown pistils for over a week now.

So here's the plants in question... As you can see two very different phenos at the least. The two close ups are of the taller plant.

Some plants just take longer than others man I’ve seen plants get way bigger than those before showing pistils yet just give em some more time.

This is true... I'm just ready to transplant and don t want no fellas in the harem...lol Patience is a virtue.

yes it can produce a male flowering plant, feminisation is only 99% so theres a one percent chance you will get a male
Good to know...My luck I'll get the 1% male on my first ever go at a fem seed...ahhh irony.

Even in veg before the appearance of tiny pistils to determine sex it is possible to have an idea of maturity by the appearance of alternating nodes. After this with fems, pistils should soon appear.

Alternating nodes are where you see nodes not in line with each other as they originally start out.

Ah yes. That plant is now on its 8th internode. Still no alternating nodes and 2 1/2 inches in between nodes. I hate plants with that much of a internodal stretch in veg. Breeder says these strecth the whole flower cycle too, so its gonna be a fight to keep its canopy even with everything else. Thank you for the valuable reminder about the alternating nodes. Gonna trans plant it, bend it over and hope for the best.

Yea it’s not 1%...more like .0001%. Not even worth considering. If you get a male it’s most likely a stray piece of pollen got in the breeders tent. (With 20twenty I wouldn’t worry about that.)That being said fems can still herm like all cannabis plants. Good luck.

Fems are 100% feminised, no males occur. I've bred bought and grown hundreds, not one male yet.
you have been lucky as males can occur, but it's a very rare event.

I had a male from feminised seeds....but they were Crap King seeds, so that could explain it

Females turning males would be a topic for top hemp academics and plant biologists who look for and study it, until someone makes them aware or gives them one there is no authority on growing I will believe that says this kind of stuff.

These websites say and sell a lot of shit, it is easier to walk in here with a claim and make it stick and if it's so rare this won't be a case of it happening on this thread anyway.

What I've seen quoted is 1:3000 will be male. I haven't had a male from feminized seed yet, nor have I had any accidental herms. I have had two very different phenotypes from the same pack of feminized seeds. Similar to what you're showing there. Both were female.
Good luck, hope that's what's going on here.

Yeah I've grown femenized seeds for abt 12yrs...never had a Male...but I suppose its possible

Also I see preflowers between weeks 3-4 in veg nearly 100% of the time
Yes I agree thats what Im used to with regular seeds as well. Veg them for 4-5 weeks and they almost always show preflowers. I have had the rare plant that doesnt and I've had to put them into 12/12 to get them to spit. Almost always ends up being female as the males also seem to have a tendency to show first.

I have two others that had pistils last week, week four. I may have stunted them a little as I moved them from a cozy little T5 to a new led light. Maybe thats why they are behind. Wife said I should just cull her as we dont want to fight with the height difference all grow, but that could be the best smoke out of the batch! So let the battle begin...

Thanks for the kind words. Me too!
