Can [any brand] magnetic ballasts spark and run [any brand] bulb?

Might sound like a stupid question. I'd like to purchase a Philips Master SON-T PIA Plus 250 Watt HPS bulb; this seems to be one of the higher end in the 250 watter category but I can get a good deal on it. Now, I'm a sucker for efficiency and preservation and quality so I'd like some opinions on what ballast to get myself to run this. My choice are as follows: ETI Duo (HPS+MH) 250 watter, SunMaster 250 watter(?class 2 apparently?), GIB Pro-V-T and GIB SPP Pro-V-T.
with that being said what are my options for a digital ballast also?
