Can anyone explain why my buds in veg are so small?

Hi everyone,

I have 3 tents with 3 different strains and one tent has very small buds compared to the others. All of my strains are indica dominant and have the same environmental conditions. The strain with very small buds is called Zskittlez as posted below. Tell me what you think and why this has happened.

They are already 4 weeks into flower shouldn’t they be more full?

Also I checked for balls and I don’t have any, it’s a female for sure. I have a ton of tops but they all look the same - stringy

Be patient

Some strains bulk up a lot slower than others. You may have flipped to 12/12 4 weeks ago but it took a couple weeks for them to actually start flowering.

I've noticed light type, light power/distance and strain all make a difference. My smallest right now is an indica too, but i'm guessing it's of lower quality genetics than the others. it's hash passion. remains to be seen if it's any good.

This pheno looks like it’s definitely leaning on heavy sativa genetics. I wouldn’t worry, they look healthy just be patient

looking at those up curled leaves on the buds (in pic 1). Did you have the light too low? (below say 16"). The up curling on the leaf edges makes me think the light was too intense.
I've found (seen with an indica strain) that this can cause the bud to grow thin (and, effected the end product). The lights (3000k - QB's) were below 16". Buds looked the same as yours.
I grew the strain again (from the same clone stock), set the lights 18"-16" (no lower, never allow leaf curl) from the plants.
That fixed it
