If u want little to no veg time u do 25 small plants in 1 gallon containers. If you don't care to veg do 4 plants in 7 gallons. Yields will b same either way.
idk about veg time, but i've always heard the number 1 gallon per month of growth..

i don't think this is too far off. a little but I'm sure theres a perfect sliding scale to gauge pot size. it would make a good thread/experiment.
I have used 5 liter (1 1/2 gal.?) smart pots and veged for up to 4 wks.,usually 3, under cfls. They are designed to handle a bigger root mass than a reg pot. I try to get as much root growth as I can during veg.(attention to soil and additives FOR root growth). Back in the day there was, maybe still is, a poster on riu that was all about roots,I learned a load from his posts. Sorry i can't dredge up his name( I do know everything, I just can't recall it all at any given moment),I'm sure someone knows.U can tell this guy knows his soil. Find him, read him, he will move U way ahead on pots, pot sizes, soil, roots, and yields with a strong root plan.

This was like, at least 5 years ago. I would offer the suggestion that newer peeps go back to the old threads( if they weren't lost) and brows them. there is a pile of old school knowledge out there.
