Can anyone tell me what the hell my friend just grew?!

So this guy calls me over to take a look at his plants and I see this. He's growing in soil mars hydro led he says it's 1k watt I'm not sure about that but anyways he's using Dyna-gro nutrients. I dont thin'k this is even smokable but what do you guys think? what happened? as for strain he says it's a Mexican Sativa but i'm also not sure he knows what he's talking about

Looks like a sativa dominant plant that suffered some major nutrient lock during growth. Did your friend get lazy with monitoring/adjusting the ph and keeping his nutrients fresh?

I don't see anything wrong with it? perhaps take a pic under normal light?

Some mex sativas do that, hell I grew one that only yielded 2 joints (but lots of seeds)

no body I know grows land race sats for yield, it's the high we're after 8)

I think that there is something wrong with the light, it's looks like to much red. Specially the first one with the hand. Just google Mars hydro and u can see that the light should be more pinkishh.

1. Learn how to grow, read, google, research
2. Get some good genetics
3. Get a real light, cheap leds do good for veg but come up short in flower. I agree looks way to red there needs to be some blue mixed in mix makes the light look more pink or blurple.

Hey Neal, Thanks for the advice. but I'm doing a good job in my garden this was just something weird I saw that I couldn't understand. I've never seen buds grow like that before, so I thought I'd ask a pro.

but here are pics of my first crop that I just harvested. blue dream and og kush. everything went well except for drying I guess I dried them too much. FieldMarshal Nutrients and 400hps. I just got my 2/ 600 watt mh and hps for my new tent. cannot wait for my seeds to arrive.

Pure sativas look like that.

Look up Dr. Grinspoon strain. It's a pure sativa with some good pictures out there
