Can fan + carbon scrubber query?

I'm planning out the ventilation for my grow and I'm wondering if there would be any adverse affects to hooking the carbon scrubber directly behind a 745 cfm duct fan. Would it put to much strain on the carbon scrubber being that close? should i have some space between the two?

The dimensions are as follows: 4.5'W x 4.8L x 6.8T *give or take a few inches. 600Hps Cooltube.

if the carbon filter is made for such high cfm fans, it is no problem at all. :)

This is correct. Check the scrubbers rating of CFM's to see whether or not it will be ok.

In order to have no smell you would need a scrubber rated around the 820cfm range.

this confuses me, I always thought as long as his carbon filter was atleast the cfm rating of his fan it was enough. Did you mean 745 or am I misunderstanding this?

I always over spec my filter by around 20% IMO this helps to have ZERO smell from your exhaust.

Dont get me wrong the basic calculations for design are correct

Room size in CFM or CMH
+5% for air cooled hood
+15% for non air cooled
+20% for filter

This is the basic calculation to design a room.

In practice though it's always better to over spec your filter. I use a 280cmh fan with a 350cmh filter.

What he said you need to try and match the CFM of your Fan to the Carbons Scrubber rating of CFM's..

Ok, makes sense to me. Thanks for breaking it down as well. Didn't think about getting a scrubber rated for more than the fan. Already have the fan just gotta get a speed controller and the scrubber.
