Can I add some consumer-grade fluorescent plant lights to supplement my main LED light?

Are those t12 bulbs? Definitely look into led retro fit bulbs at HD(directional output). Also would have the fluoro fixture above the plants and close to them. Not going to do much sitting upright in a corner.

Honestly after this run I would look into an efficient led grow light that fits this space better, scrap everything else. Increase in yield will be worth it.

Yes, my floros are t12 bulbs. I looked at the retrofit bulbs a little bit, but I'm probably more constrained by the size of the tubes, which are 48".... much longer than 32" length and width of the grow box. That only left the option of using them vertically as opposed to horizontally... and if that ain't helping that much, then I'm going to have to seriously consider excluding them altogether. I'm almost sure that I'm going to return my blurple LED or sell it on cragslist or offerup so I can invest in the ViparSpectra XS150 that Kassiopieja mentioned yesterday. As you and other have noted, the increase in yield does seem to justify changing things up.

pretty great deal and you can get 10% off with RIU10 or DIY10.

Thanks for the recommendation, Nizza. I saw somewhere that HLG was a good brand. I probably would have put it into consideration except for two things: (a) I bought the VS XS150 shortly before you shared the recommendation; and (b) it requires assembly, which makes it a bad fit for me. I'm not good with handling small parts and I'd be worried I crossed a wire or something and that I'm gonna burn down the place. It seems like its priced competitively though especially with the promotion code. Thanks for sharing.

With regard to the link you provided yesterday for the VIPARSPECTRA site, I was checking out their product line and think I may bite the bullet on the XS150. If I go that route will I need any other supplemental lighting, or should that take care of it?
For growing Auto's in this setup
Grow area is 30" x 30" x 58"
on a 20/4 timer in flower it'll be sufficient. For veg & seedling stage just move it closer down and use the dimmer to save some electricity. Once the room is filled out with leaves put the light at the maximum top and gradually increase its strength. With light it's best to do things slowly.

If you ever run photoperiodics in that setup you should aim for about 200W in LED in flower - some additional flower-booster racks 660nm+730nm would do that trick.

Thanks again, Kassiopeija, I truly appreciate the advice!
