using air cooled lights and standard exhaust system (plus a/c lung room for the summer)

i have an insulated garage..and a room built inside.. im curious if i can just exhaust my lights hott air into the attic? or is cutting a large exhaust hole in the side of my house and sending the air directly outside important?

i have six 5" vents on my roof.. they are passive roof vents.

thanks

i'd say external as that is what i'm doing (no attic) if your only going to have 1 light i'd think the attic would be fine but if you plan on having a few lights i'd say either into the house or directly outside if it can be done inconspicuously my reasoning for this is because if you have a lot of heat going up into to the attic it's the same as growing in it and you'll have to insulate otherwise the roof will glow red hot through the winter, if your going into the attic you had may aswell go through the breast wall and into the chimney stack if possible.

sending hot air from your growing environment is always important as it will help you later in the grow, but if you can keep the temps down then i don't see why you have to do extra work of venting it outside. if you have a 5in vent on the roof then connect it with a 5in fling adapter so you can duct it without putting another hole in your wall.. if you have something like a 6in for your system then get a 6in reducer ---> to a 5inch to connect it. my only caution when venting the air outside or even sometimes the attic is that the smell can be a little strong, depending on how much you are growing and your surrounding environment (neighbors and etc). get some odor killer and you should be fine.
