i dont have alot of money. like £200 but im looking around at just lights and some can be very expensive.

i plan to grow just one or two plants in my wardrobe ( empty of course )
dont want to sound dumb but what do i use as i power source for the lights.?
also i heard cover the surrounding walls in white paint ?
and its a small area enclosed and i will put fans into the wardrobe to give it air but it might get abit stuff in the wardrobe.

Hey Sculpter :)

Let me put this to you , Everyone wants to start by spending as little as they can if they have a tight budget , Sometimes i think thats better than lashing out a load of cash to later find out you got the wrong stuff or growing is just not for you :)

How about getting what you need bit by bit untill your ready to roll ? ... This will give you time to learn exactly whats involved in growing and get a chance to be ready for your grow by haveing a well regulated room ready to put plants into ?

you can get a nice little light set up for less than £100 with all you need .

http://www.homehydro.co.uk/index.php/lighting/lighting-kits/standard-kits/400w-hydroponics-lighting-kit-powerplant-daylight-kit.html

A nice little extraction Kit with all you need for under £100
http://www.homehydro.co.uk/index.php/environmental-control/venilation/extraction-kits/hvk-fan-filter-ducting.html

Paint your drobe white ...put some plastic down and you have a growroom...BUT... you will need other stuff .... Pots .. soil / Coco ... Or a hydroponic system ,
You plan on growing from seed or from clone ? Some kind of propagation equiptemt ..You can do that on the cheap to .

My advice is this .... build up your stuff ... set your area up and get it dialed in so the enviroment is right ... Collect all the stuff you will need ... And while doing that ... READ as much as you can untill you think you know this stuff backwards :)

Good Luck and welcome to RiU :)

hey thanks very much for replying.
i plan to grow from fem seeds ( possibly auto flower ) seen as its my first it will make the process easier and then i can understand and learn how to get through the whole process.

also i dont know what the coca is yet and i need to understand what the extractor is.
still got a while to learn yet.

allready have pots and soil and stuff.
maybe need a timer aswell.
its in a very enclosed place so only growing one or two plants.
but it will prob get very cramped eventualy with heat

Props to Vento good advice brother. You also want to think how long you want to do this, I only say this as to most growers there is no tomorrow so by nature they are cheap. Example pots vs plastic bags and MG vs real food IMHO

well im currently seeing the prices for the following :

light timer
red light x 2 ( not sure properly but been advised 6500k )
blue light x2 ( again im not sure but 2700k ) ?
big pot
seeds
white paint
plastic sheeting
nutes
soil
small fans

and possibly an extractor but dont have much cash so probibly do without the extractor.
also its dumb but what do i use to power the lights in my setup. the setup is in my wardrobe and no plug sockets around.

Coco is just an alternative to soil. Just another medium to grow in. But probably the best medium to grow in. However it's inert and nutrient free. So you have to have those.

If it's your first time, you might want to Get some cheap CFL's. You are only talking about one or two plants here. I looked at that previously mentioned website and found they had some nice 125w CFL lights and plugs. Some of them don't fit in standard sockets.

http://www.homehydro.co.uk/index.php/lighting/low-energy-cfl/eco-light-922.html This one is great for flowering
http://www.homehydro.co.uk/index.php/lighting/low-energy-cfl/eco-light.html And this is something you would want for Veg

You could probably buy both bulbs and stick them in your cabinet. Using only the blue one for vegging, then when you start flowering turn the red one on too. I think it would be nice for two plants.

You absolutely could do it for that price in America. Extension cord?

I'd get a 250 watt mh/hps hood light from ebay (with a mh bulb and a hps bulb) That should run you around £90. You can get good seeds to learn on from Nirvana for about £20.
I'd recommend their northern lights as it's easy to grow, very low odor in growth and inexpensive. Everything else is "dirt" cheap. Dirt shouldn't run you more than £5 - 10 for
good but not elite potting soil w/o added nutrients. (do not get pre-fertilized soil) Add a few 3 gallon flower pots for another £5 - 10. Buy a bag of blood meal for veg stage. £3.
Buy a box of Miracle Grow 15-30-15 for flower stage £4. That set up would yield you atleast 1.5 ounces of bud per female plant.

Approximate money spent? £137.

thanks for all the info guys.
just wondering would an autogarden save me money on lights and pots and stuff. just under £100 for an autogarden.
might save time effort and possibly abit of space.

my bad, i ment aero garden.

Negative on the aerogarden. An aerogarden is a bowl of water with a fish tank air pump adding oxygen or a fish tank water pump re-circulating the water. Those things cost 20 bucks. Both of them. Combined. The light... I'm not sure what wattage they use, but I can't imagine it being higher than 42. If you are a cost conscious consumer, don't get that. If you want something pretty to make clones and you already have everything you need, let your friends and family know what you want for christmas, otherwise spend wisely.

Here is an image to help you picture it.

The 250 watt mh/hps that i told you to get from ebay is about 10x better for the same amount of £.

Don't get an aerogarden. You're better off going to your pet store and buying a fish tank airpump, airtube , airstone , lava rocks , and a bucket . Add a 125w CFL fixture and you are looking at half the price and twice the setup.

Or if you just want people to convince you to buy it, ask in the aerogarden section.
