Can i improve on this before i flip???

I went to Colorado years ago and got made fun of for bring up scrogging to a bunch of old heads. Then my friend when back out a few months ago and said all of those dudes are scrogging now.

Same setup, but I hung mine. The one benefit of hanging them is you can easily adjust the height. The down side is that it's obviously putting more weight on the tent, and if you're not using a tent it becomes a whole other construction project.

Yeah no tent here. Walk in closet lol.

If you have good LST going the poles would work too but you might need quite a few with the colas all spread out. Sharpen the end you're going to push in so they barely damage the roots. I stick them in late in flowering too but usually have a tall plant so just one pole then wires off that to the branches that need support.

Most people that do what they call a ScroG is just screen supported colas as they don't veg longer to train the branches to grow horizontally along the screen like a proper ScroG. Total canopy control! :)

I have a tall Monkey Banana Kush plant that I've been training the branches out with wire tied back to the main stem and will be setting it up like that other one above in the 7gal pot. The little plants in the pic are going upstairs into the 2x4x5'h near new Vivosun tent I bought along with that little LED light they are under. 1500W my ass! No name cob light and even the drivers inside just say LED Driver. Pulls 207W from the wall according to my little energy meter. Does about 3ft square which is good enough for half the tent. Those 9 pots will fit just right set up as they are.

that’s my understanding... that to do a real Scrog you need a dedicated room that you can veg and flower in. You start as early as you want really (after there’s imo at least four nodes) and you need to veg till you get the the size you want to flip n then switch the time n cook till done. That’s why I don’t scrog yet, not enough space.

You don't need a dedicated room. I train the plants by topping and then throwing a loose net on them in the veg room. Timing is critical. If they get too big then it's tough to lay them out under the scrog net in the flowering room. If they're too small then you waste a bunch of time further vegging them out.

Managed to do that test fit last night. DBFE8790-AEEC-4AE8-A60B-C5E13D45AAB5.jpeg

I get that you can start later n top till u net it. But you still have to veg it after you net it to get it properly woven into the net. ( correct me if I’m wrong please ) So imo you may as well just start and finish in the same spot. Once I do some more clearing I plan to build several stand alone spaces so I can run scrog in a sea of green.

As long as the plants aren't too tall you just scrog them as you put them into the flowering room, and you can pretty much flip them that day. You'll still have the stretch period to fill up any voids in the net. If they are too small then you'll have to continue to veg them out, but we're talking a week or two vs. a month+. You could have a bunch of rooms, but that's going to be a much bigger headache than a veg and a flower room. If you have the space, build a veg room and two flower rooms, then offset the grows so that you're harvesting every month. It would be a good idea to make your veg room big enough for a few mothers as well.

ScroG and sea of green, SoG, are two totally different animals. SoG is many small plants together usually in smallish pots to create a Sea of Green whereas ScroG is one or very few plants trained to grow horizontally before being flowered once the screen is near full. I've done many of those including in DWC.

So... I’m growing medium size plants (flipping) so they get about 5 feet in large pots (15gal) I have a steady chain of clones to ready to flip midsize plants. I am going to try to get the gap down to three week intervals. That’s the plan at least.

That's a perpetual grow then. As opposed to batch growing like I and many people do mostly. I just got a small grow tent and LED light to veg plants in while flowering in my main grow room so heading in the same direction as you. Difference is I'm getting into breeding and making fem seeds. I don't need much of a production line and always have a lot more pot laying around than I can use. Doing a lot of CBD strains along with more indicas now.

what’s the cbd stuff about? I haven’t tried it yet, was wondering.

Wow! you are new at this eh. CBD is one of the many cannabinoids that pot produces and is very good for all sorts of pain and inflammatory disease without the high. When combined with THC it mellows the effect and in combination can cure cancer and all sorts of conditions. I use high CBD edibles for my arthritis while making high THC Rick Simpson Oil, RSO, to help with my wife's liver tumours.

Time to wander the forums reading up on all the wonders this plant has to offer. You'll never run out of new stuff to read. :)
