Is it ok to mix CFL bulbs??? I added a warm white 55 W 2700k bulb to the existing 4 x 42 W 6700k bulb set up.

Seedlings are about 5 days old. The seedlings are grown in rockwool and are given only water. I will add nutes when they are 1 week old.

As the plant gets bigger i intend to add another warm white 55 W 2700k bulb to the setup.

The total bulbs will be 4 x 42w 6700k all spectrum bulb
2 x 55w 2700k warm white bulb

Grow area is 3 feet X 1 feet for 4-7 plants.

Thanks for looking and submitting your response!
I am new and need all the help i can get.

Sweet! Thanks!!

Do you know if the warm white bulb will cause faster water evaporation in the Rockwool?

Im just worried the Rockwool will dry up much faster because of the warm white bulb, which means i need to add water more frequently.

put the thing in some soil and dont nute until the third week about

I agree , from what I've read, sounds like waiting for the 3rd week before nutes is the way to go.

As for the mixed spectrum - i'm doing something similar. I've heard 6400k is good for veg and i've also heard mixed spectrum is the way to go although i haven't heard a more scientific 'why' from either camp. I'd like to know a real reason behind either stance.

Let's see some pics! where did you get you 6400 42w cfls and how much?

lowes or home depot usually have everything u need 6 cfls 100w equivalent blue, red or white spectrum is like 12 bucks. if u mix spectrums it would simulate the sun better where the summer is long and hot like hawaii or sumthin. u have the veg spectrum and the bloom spectrum all in one and plants in thos places tend to grow much bigger overall and yield very good quality because the only downside is the entire process from seed to fully flowered will take much longer pretty much double the amout of time. The reward would be better quality and a higher yield since it would be a bigger plant. bottom line is it will slow down your flowering but but yield and quality increase. I would only use blue spectrum when in veg. NO RED at all. and keep on for 24 hours light as much as possible.:leaf::bigjoint::leaf:
