Can I pick this plant - heat issue.

Hello,

I've been dealing with a Heat Issue on this rather large plant - 3'-8".

The fan leaves have all fallen off and now the smaller leaves have begun to fall off. I'm slowly torching it.

Yesterday was the 8 week for flowering mark.

This morning I noticed that the plant is beginning to smell like Cat Piss. But I'm not sure how many more days the plant can live. I'm pretty sure I could get one or two (days) but it is looking bleak.

Sorry for the poor picture quality. Should I nab it or let it ride?

I wouldn't risk going a couple more days if you have a major heat issue and plant stress. I can't imagine two more days is going to make a difference in potency or yield. So if you're comfortable with it, take 'em down!

Ooch!!! Like Sumer In Vegas. Pic's, Cant Tell Hair Color Most Changed Or What. Take A Piece Of And Pop In Microwave 30sec. Let Cool Do Again Till Dry Maybe 2/3 Times. It Will Kill Some Flavor And Potency. But It Might Help U Decide. 2 More Days Is Not That Much, But Crap Occures. Just Me Thoughts. Dbb.

Thanks,

I'm monitoring one particular bud and it is growing. Maybe 3 Millimeters a 24 hour cycle. As long as the bud is growing I'll justify the leaf loss as "Self-Cleaning".

Shrugging Shoulders. SOG sounds like the best way to go. Tall plants suck.

trichs?

What is a Trich? Are those the Glossy Mushroom heads? I'll look tonight. The light comes back on at 9.

All I have is that Radio Shack magnifier. It's tuff using that device. And then the light color is HPS.

You are supposed to cut a little piece of leaf of the bud at the top, middle, and bottom. Then take it to the kitchen table and get a good look at the trichs with the scope. I cant understand why people try to use the scopes on the plant when it is in the grow room under the hps lights. It wont hurt the plant to cut a really small piece of leaf that is in the bud, not a fan leaf. Try it and let us know how it goes.

Buster,

You're a funny guy. I never thought to use the tool properly. I would stump over the tree for hours at a time in an unfocused way.

You were correct.

I snipped a tiny piece of bud leaf off from each of these area:

The bottom - small trich's are clear. Large trich's are milky.

The middle - small globs outnumber large globs. Largest globs milky.

The top - small globs clear. Large globs milky - however, the pillars holding up the large globs were clear.

No amber color anywhere.

Thanks for all the comments. Thanks for getting me off the ledge.

I raised my light as high as I could. I also threw away all the tape I was using on the duct work and replaced it with clamps.

I also added a fitting on the supply side.

Now the treetop air is 81F while the bottom is 71F.

It's perking up - the leaves are dying more slowly.

In a couple of days Monday, it'll be 9 weeks flowering. If the plant doesn't worsen, I'll let it go for another week after that. So 10 days or so.

Of course I'll report back here before commencing to chop!

Sounds like a good plan! :peace::blsmoke:

A couple of pics of the new configuration. Near the light I've rounded the flex as opposed to the taped-up 90 L's. The 4th frame is where the exhaust runs up an inside fold of the curtain (Shaped like a tube) up to the ceiling.

What sucks is the closet is 8' high inside while the hallway ceiling is only 7' high. So all the extra heat gets sucked into and then lodged in the garden!
