Can i plant the same strain in the same bucket?

Sorry for a stupid question, but i have 4 platinum OG clones bought from a nearby MMJ place for 10 a piece GREAT DEAL.... anyhow i want to know if i can put them all in the same big hempy bucket. i want to make like an 18 gallon hempy bucket and put 6 of the same strain in there.... i also have another problem.... the tips of leaves on one of my banana OG clones is browning... im new to growing and i got a few free clones and then i decided i wanted to start growing... i have a closet and have a bit of money right now and im figuring ill break even with just one of these harvests.... anyhow... im a bit stoned off some Windex OG.... honestly... its the best ive smoked in a long long time... seriously... its bomb...

anyhow...
i need help with this issue.... ill post some pictures... also if you have any suggestions on how i can make a smarter more space efficient hempy bucket system LMK i really do appreciate all help... as i am new... i should be posting in the newbies section... but i figured, since im not really too much of a newbie to pot... im special i guess...

these are the pics of browning tips. and ill post some pics of these lovely looking clones a bit later-- havent gotten around to getting up to take more pictures. im telling you windex.

oh btw i have them under a 60 watt flourescent like 18 hrs a day
also... the platinum clones are much larger like id say 5 inches one looks like it may have a bud coming out =P

also... they are just sitting in soil til i go to home depot tommorow to get some perlite.

and the buckets. but im not sure what to do for buckets please help me before i go tommorow haha

Congrats on the clones, and welcome to the wide world of cannabis cultivating. First things first. To answer your question about putting 6 plants in one container (18gal?) That might not be a good idea unless you can supply a picture of the container. IF it's something like a flower bed kind of set up you probably wont have problems but if its anything like what im picturing in my head then i would advise against it. THe root system of the plants plays a huge role in how large your plants can get. I usually put 1 plant per 5gal bucket. If you are doing hydro its an entirely different story. Usually a 10 to 12 gal rez can support 4 to 6 plants thats if you dont mind the roots getting tangled together. ANyways, what else do you have in the way of like the light source? What kind of soil will you be using? Do you have any fans? SOrry if this is a bit overwhelming. Just ask questions as they come to your mind, myself and other veteran growers here on RIU will be glad to help you set up a bad ass hobby grow. Best of luck to you

well, im going to be using 100% perlite as ive seen many successful grows... and sometime this week ill be going to the hydro store to get some foxfarm nutes... or if you suggest other lmk
but yeah i was going to use 5gal buckets per each but i figured what if they are the same strain? couldnt i get like an 18 galo (rubbermaid roughneck to be exact) or rather a 24 gal? and put 4 or 5 in it? would that work?
but yeah im going to be doing hempy bucket so its 100% perlite and 1'' away from bottom a hole.


oh sorry, ill probably be getting that maxwing or the lightwing full system setup.

The plants being the same strain doesn't make that much of a difference. It makes it easier for you to dial in a nutrient regime. That being the same strain of cannabis, they should respond in the same manner, theoretically. A 25gal rubbermaid roughneck should do very well with 4 or 5 plants in it. Just make sure to space them out. I personally have not seen 100% perlite grows. That doesn't mean it can't be done or hasn't been done. Usually what I see from soil growers is that they get a good soil mix from say like Fox Farms, and then they add perlite to the mixture. SOmething around like 80% soil 20% perlite. CFLs are great for growing! Just remember to keep them close as possible to the plants, 1 to 2 inches for the best results. Try and surround the plants with the cfls. My last grow was done with only CFLs from seed to harvest. IT was great and I got some great bud. As far as comparing it to other light sources ...say like a HID system either MH or HPS , CFLs really lose out. MH and HPS lights outperform in light intensity and really make the plants pack on the weight. HPS are great for flowering and MH do really well in the veg stage. ALthough with that being said you can use a HPS or a MH throughout the whole grow cycle. I have seen many growers do that and they get excellent results. I hope this helped you.

sec im finding that post with 100% perlite hempy... ill show u... plus its much like a hydro except its the lazy mans hydro which is supposedly great for beginners...
its a great grow supposedly with like a 4 oz harvest with this guy

supposedly great results... but maybe like a 60% perlite 40% ocean forest would work too maybe... but i was thinking 100% perlite and then just do nutrients for hydros.

I say go for it. Looks like a solid grow method. Just be wary of possible nute buildup at the bottom of the bucket. I might actually try this method sometime in the future.

we should start the grow together haha, ill probably keep the clones frozen in time best i can for a week til i can get a lighting system here lol...

So, uhm what nutes do i need for the stage you see...? plus... is the light regimen im giving them okay? its not a strong light or anything but its still lumens.

If I were in your position I would repot those beautiful girls in 5 gal buckets the hempy buckets you were talking about might serve you well. Those plants want to grow and you need to give them some breathing space for their roots. Also roots should not be exposed to light. The light can kill the roots or stop them from growing. SO ya that would be my advice to you. Transplant into a larger container when you get the chance.

with the hempy buckets If you haven't made them up yet... 100% perlite would be fine but you'd have to water more often... the general mix is somewhere along the lines of 50% perlite with 50% vermiculite and variations of that as the Vermiculite holds the water a lot better.

just a useful piece of info you don't really get nute build up as when you fill it up it drains through the holes in the side so your res is only ever 2 inches of water and if you stick to a regime of (im doing the make it rain business) water, feed, HEAVY water, feed, then your res is pretty much always getting flushed so no nute build up XD thats why I love this method, its so easy and you get the added bonus of having to water the plants yourself so you get that connection and caring nature sort of thing instead of a timer watering your plants which is a bit too cold an mechanical for me (not to get too much into the philosophies of plant growing and the human attachment lol)

and joe-boy I've noticed you've made like 3 or more threads pretty much pointing at the same thing, you'll probably get more help if you confine it to one thread and ask questions in already used (and more specific to your problems) plus you get all confused about what threads what a little bit of reading goes a loooooooong way XD

and I don't see why you couldn't grow 4 or 5 plants in 1 huuge mecha hempy bucket, its hydro after all, roots'll get a bit tangly but other than that they should be alright.
