can i put a bigger bulb in a 70 watt ballast?

can i put a 100 watter or maybe even a 150 watt bulb in my 70 watt hps ballast? its 2.2 amps 120v

The 70w ballast doesnt allow enough current to the ignitor to start the bulb... it wont work it will just damage ur bulb.

It won't work, if it does it will soon overheat and fail or cause your space to catch on fire. Yeah fire is fun isn't it? Oh and then theres the jail time after the FD finds what started the fire. You and Ben Dover will be cell mates and fast friends.
