I was just wondering, If I were to take cuttlings from the mother and set them up in a dome,

Could I immediately leave them in the same vegetation room as the other plants?

Ofcourse, with the same lightning fixture and time.

18 hours on, 6 hours off. Under 400W MH Bulb.

As long as you keep enough distance between them and the light, they'll be fine.
They'll like having the same environment as the mother they were taken from, as it's one less shock to deal with...imo ;)

you can do either, there really are two camps.. the 24 hour camp and the not 24 hour camp.

I'm really a fan of letting them have a dark cycle. They utilize carbs that were produced during the day without having to deal with the lights and switching constantly between respiration and transpiration. Plus, it gets dark at night. or at least where I live.

You CAN do 24, but its kind of a waste of electricity for cuttings. Just keep them moist and don't stress them. Also.. and this is the hardest for newbs, just leave them the FUCK ALONE. If you just have to touch them, wash your hands first.

good luck dude.

well initially i put my newgrowns or recently sprouted directly under the light, while spreading my teens and moms further out more.
would i place the dome under the light aswell? ofcourse, with a reasonable distance from one another.

and thought i'd ask, is it okay to leave the purifier & fan on overnight while having the cuttlings in there?

it's a waste of energy to put cuttings under that much light. better to put them under some floros and farther from the light source then usual. cuttings don't need much light. i don't know what will happen if they 're under a lot of light. my guess is they'll get all stressed out but i've never done it.

it's not really a waste of energy if its being used regardless.
this is along the lines of being more conservative, considering i already have adult plants fueling under that light already.

I already had done an expirement outside the room with 2 cfl's on 24 hours,
the cuttlings couldn't handle the environment, so they died the next morning.

the purifier and fan i have setup are extremely beneficial to the plants. My purifier is top quality and really has an affect.

Oh boy another thread packed with misinformation. I'm going to say this in the least amount of words possible. Cannabis is a C3 plant it does not need a dark period to GROW. What it does during the "dark" is often done during the day. The more light the more it will grow. It DOES need a dark period to FLOWER.

The end.

p.s. Seedlings and cuttings don't need a ton of light.

speaking of misinformation,

from august 2010 until now, you still believe dark doesnt pertain a cannabis plant?

holy fuck, considering im new to this site ( let alone growing ),
i've been able to find solid facts that prove having a 'dark period' helps ANY plant focus on its internal sculpture.

And the conclusion you jumped to was the environment was bad...
Many things can go wrong with a clone the first time...
Cut/watering/dryness/touched it wrong/touched the soil/over heated/to close to lights/to far from lights/clone got cold/clone got to hot/and on and on...

Time to keep it simple... so yes, not ideal, plant will clone and be ok under MH 18/6....
As Mr2shim says 24/0 better....and it is for clones...
Good luck...

One way in which plants are categorized is by the way they gather and handle carbon dioxide. Cannabis is a C3 plant. It uses the CO2 it gathers during the light period, when it is photosynthesizing. Plants designated C4 also gather CO2 during the dark period for use during the light period. Many C3 plants, including cannabis, do not need a rest period. They continue to photosynthesize as long as they are receiving light.
