Can I put my carbon filter in a box?

If I were to put my carbon filter in a smallish enclosed area would this be bad for the carbon filter in any way?
I would like to get a large 55 gallon tote and put my carbon filter in it with my exhaust fan out the outside pulling air out. 2 intakes. Basically just using the tote as a lung room.
The dimensions are more than double the filter length, width, and height so it wouldn't be crammed in there or anything.

Would there be anything wrong with this?

It would reduce the amount of air the fan can move because it has to pull it in & push it out of the box. Also im pretty sure air extraction/purification systems work better pulling dirty air through the carbon than pushing it through

where will the tote get air from?
Out of the room im guessing. I think maybe he wants to put the fan & filter outside & use the tote to disguise them maybe? Or keep the weather off them? Probably should’ve have just told him yes there is something wrong with that

I want to do 2 6 inch intakes coming from my tents.
Fan power is not an issue as I bought a fan and filter 3x more than I need so I can run it on medium or low the entire time.
Two 6 inches in, one 8 inch out. 8 inch fan outside the tote connected to the filter.

All of this is indoors in 1 room. So the intake air isn't traveling far.
Basically all I'm trying to do is not have the entire room stink but I have 4 small tents that need venting so I can't have a filter and fan for all of them

2 6 inches in will pull more air in than 1 8 inch can pull out. So the extra positive pressure from the in fans will push all the dirty, unfiltered air & smell that the exhaust fan cant keep up with outside unfiltered. You need negative pressure in a grow room. In other words you need more exhaust than intake

No fans pushing air in. One large 8 inch fan that can exhaust the room in less than 1 minute.
Just an open vent in each tent for intake. Only fan besides the oscillating fans is the large 8 inch.
Definitely not an artist.

Ahh i see yeah that’ll work. But might I suggest, ditch the tents fill the room!! 1/4 the amount of work & 4 times the reward!

If I could I would. I am doing a legal grow with 1 large plant per tent. Each tent will have a plant at a different growth stage so they will differ dramatically.
This, while more expensive and more work, is the best I can do without breaking the law lol.

probably not going to pull from the longer runs very well even if you're sealed but you never know unless you try.

All that time we battled behind the shadows evading the law to grow a plant that has as much right to grow on this planet as we do. We risked serious penalties, until finally they open their minds & let it be grown, but only if we do it in a way that suits them & their corporate interests, or suffer harsh penalties?! Legal grows, what a jip!

You might need to use inline fans (they're cheap!) and the longer runs to equalize the static pressure, otherwise the majority of the air will be pulled from the closest tents; path of least resistance.
