I'm nowhere near capacity, and I don't care much about the timer, but I don't know enough about electricity to know if my Kessil light could be harmed.
I read that surge protectors should not be plugged into timers, so I thought I'd ask about this.

Home Depot sells nice grounded Y adapters that can split or triple split. Most timers are rated for about 1500 watts of total power, give or take. You'll be fine using a splitter. I'm using a splitter on mine now in a veg room, it powers a 1000w MH and a 406w T5HO off of the Y. Just plug the Y into the timer, then devices into the Y.
Price-wise it shoudnt cost more than $10 or so for a nice thick one......
I dont know if you have Arbor Freight Tools where u live, but they sell double outlet timers for $5.The same kind they sell at my hydro store for $20.I use a powerstrip on one of my timers to add cfls to my hps during flowering.Done it for years with no problem.
