Can I trim?? Please read!!

Should I trim the big fan leaves off so I can allow more sunlight to the branches?

idk looks like your plant has space for light to get threw.might wanna wait for advice from better growers tho
 
I've been defoliating for years with only positive results. I'd recommend a combination of LST with a bit lighter defoliation. I usually do a final heavy defoliation ay 7 days into flowering and stop training completely 10-12 days into flower.
 
no need to take off fan leaves enough sun is getting to inner nodes its not that bushy. Fan leaves soak up the sun for the plant the less you have the less it can take in. top your plant and then lst it. lsting will give you good results and have better sun coverage.
 
no do not cut the leaves .........u are not even branching to justify it u want those leaves so u get the engery to branch out

topping her tho might be a worth wild idea it will cause branching and the plant to bush

I always find it humorous when people so adamantly disavow the notion of trimming a couple fan leaves, but are so willing to lop off entire tops from the main stalk. Don't get me wrong, I am not against topping, but defoliation will not hurt your plant. Consider the purpose for the defoliation. You want to promote side-shoot growth and create a better canopy for when you enter flowering. I begin defoliation after the second set of nodes, especially in my hydro setups where the fan leaves are considerably larger.
 
I've seen both, but my opinion for this particular plant is definitely topping it out. It's not bushy enough to warrant defoliation. No sense getting rid of your plants energy source if you don't need to.

Those leaves you're cutting off fuel the buds you're trying to grow. If you want more light to reach the plant, bend it over. Defoliation is for people who have no idea what they're doing.

What I want to know is how to avoid the 2-3 week stall? I've heard all the usual like the buds will be all air etc...
When I can find a way to avoid the stall I'm all over it.
 
boy I'd sure love to see a side by side experiment where somebody grows the same strain and defoliates one and not the other and see what really works better. I won't be trying it myself because I think it's silly to remove healthy fan leaves that are receiving light. This is one of those enduring myths that I don't understand - and in all the extensive research I have done on cannabis, I have yet to come across a single authority on the subject that advises you to cut off fan leaves. not one! show me otherwise

I wouldn't take advice from someone with 6 posts who is giving advice that 90% of growers know to be bullshit.
 
What God Here said, you aren't even close to having a bushy plant to worry about. You only diminish the usuable light by about 15% passing through the leaf you don't have that many layers. Don't know why a plant would work different in hydro but I do know how plants work in soil, leave your leaves alone.
Topping is not the same as stripping your plants of leaves.

when i was in the process of moving i gave out my plants to each of my good friends. One of them that I had given 4 to look after, defoliated the 4 they were looking after. This was in april/may. It was a bitch because I had to setup lights at each of my friends houses. But in the end I had defoliation on 4 and the rest my other friends had weren't. The defoliated plants got shocked first of all, then grew slower it doesn't work. I have never done this myself because I know the basics of plants and science.
 
I kept hearing this & that so I tried it with 2 NL side by side,I got about half again on the 1 I defoliated,but I hate that stall.
How many post do you have to have to know everything?
There is something to be said for defoliation,but it's way over my head. It's a lot more work to do it correctly.
