Do whatever you feel like doing short of stripping the plant of all it's leaves. You will never get a unanimous answer to this question, there has always been heavy debate over it and most likely always will be.

Those big fan leaves help grow out the lower nodes.
The big fan leaves store water and nuets to feed the plant.
I learned that here. Ha!

See my above post. I can say yes and give good reasoning, someone will say no and give their own good reasoning, but at the end of the day we both come out with buds. It is pretty much impossible to compare and contrast methods as there's no sure benchmark harvest weight to be using as your point of reference.

well, what if i just trim the big fan leaves that are just shading the the lower nodes
Wait a second... aren't you the one who was, just the other day, bitching about people asking stupid questions and saying they should all just fuck off?

Why is it that everyone so concerned about lower-branches or buds being shaded by leaves just wants to go ripping them off? Always seemed like such an imbecile idea, to me. If you're worried about lower nodes not getting as much light and obviously not developing as much... why not just add more light? Get one or two 42 watt compact fluorescent bulbs and place them so that the light shines from below the plant, or directly on the side.
