Can I use Urine as a fertilizer?

Can I take a piss, dilute it with water, and add it to my Hydroponics setup?

This sounds gross, but I have actually read about it, and it is supposed to be actually a pretty good fert., so this is an actual question.

And..would love to see my buddies smoking my piss plants..hehe :)

honestly you can do this, urine has high levels on nitrogen, but...it is kind of gross esp on indoor plants, i could understand maybe outside,,,but not inside, it will eventually smell very badly in your res.

Hydroponics is simply using water to deliver nutrients to plants.

However, in practice, (I thought) it gives us the ability to add precise amounts of the correct macro and micro nutrients given the conditions, strain, etc. of what we grow.

So why carefully mix and monitor nutrients and then just add some solution (urine) with unknown levels of these macro and micro nutrients on top of that. And don't we flush salts out in our urine?

I'm just waiting for the pics in the Marijuana Plant Problems section: "Help! Pee deficiency or pee burn?"

I was asking about the salts - but, yeah, I forgot about the ammonia.

To paraphrase Frank Zappa: "Why does it hurt when I [smoke my] peeeeeee?" :)

Never added urine to hydro for fertilizer purposes
But it never stopped me from taking a piss if I had to be in the room

lol..this was just a "curiosity question" ... don't think I will ever try it....but a wandering mind needs to know..and I just smoked one..lol

Today just is not my day as far as keeping my mouth shut about things I have tried. 1/4 cup per gallon once in a great while in outdoor worked fine. Just tried it on one plant to see and honestly the plant looked nice and green. No one knew, lol
For me I would not know how to control it well enough to
to make it part of my routine. I`m a piss of the porch guy though so don`t be like me. I`m gross

LMFAO...glad i started this thread..funny...you didnt use that measuring cup for xmas cooking did you?..hey didnt that dude on "The big bang Theory" piss in a cup to measure liquid intake and output to see if his kidneys were okay?

i added piss to my plant the first few weeks of veg because i was to cheap to go get nutes...worked fine but i didnt eventualy upgrade a tiny notch to mg.
the bud in my pic is actualy from the Pee plant, hell i had a whole thread started on it under the name Read06 only a few posts under that name so it wont be hard to search

I imagine it might work better when you've eaten veggies, as opposed to a lot of starches:lol:, but IDK about beer vs hard alcohol.
