Can i veg with T-5?s

Hey all im a first time grower and found myself on this site alot to answer my questions.. I was just wondering if i could veg 10 plants under 2 56 watt t-5 fluoros? would i just have to veg them a bit longer.. or put them under my 1k hps for last week of veg and then flower? and help is appreciated

I veg under t5's and my plants are just fine. I switch to the hps right when I go into flowering. The HPS has more penetrating power than the T-5's and I think the HPS produces better tighter buds. I have tried to veg under the hps and to be honest t5's are cheaper to run and do just as good of a job.

these clones have been under HOT5 only so far I will be adding some led s below the canopy in hopes of getting enough extra bud to be worth it

First pic 1/06/2013 (in smaller tote), next 3 taken last Friday in very large 2 X 4 tote. Bud development has doubled since Friday

You should have asked if you could veg with an 1k hps. I've never seen that one before.

^^ It would depend on the Spectral Distribution Diagram. They are all different, but most likely a bit more blue would be needed
