Can my fan deal with the extreme temps if i keep it in the attic?

Ie, i wonder what the min and max operating temp are for a stanley blower? Its about zero right now so its probably 20 up in the attic and you have to think that during the summer it would likely reach 110-120 up there.

The reason for keeping it up there is because im trying to keep people from not hearing it from the hallway.

I have a feeling that the summer temps are less of a concern then the colder temps. Although i will be blowing the hot air from my hoods so that could help. thanks.

no, if your ambient room temp is like that obviously the air you suck in will alreadt be hot or cold as hell just like the attic itself, you'll need to find a new place to grow or cut vents in the roof and floor for summer and then get a space heater or something for winter..

I'm a bit confused. So youre saying that the fans motor can not handle those extreme temps. My grow op is in the bedroom and it stays 75 in there. But the fan is loud as shit so I want to keep it in the attic so know one can hear it. And just pull up the air through insulated ducting. Not sure if you understood me the first time. Ill probably just call lasko/stanley and see if they can tell me a min/max operating temp.

make sure I understand you.you want to put the fan into the attic to suck air from your room and dump it into the attic, not suck extreme temp air from the attic to feed your room, right? if so,you should be OK but I would worry more about the extreme heat of summer.110 isnt so bad but attics can exceed 140 or more on a hot day

I think max operating temp for Stanley fans is 104 Fahrenheit, at least for some of the 4'' models I was looking at. Not sure of the min, that detail was irrelevant to me as I have to worry about high temps.

Good luck!

***Read up on FLIR technology!!!!! WARNING!!!***
Venting hot air from your room into the open space of your attic will change the temp of your roof! Police and law enforcement use F.L.I.R. to look at temp changes on the roofs of houses. If every house in your neighborhood has a blue roof and yours is yellow and red, you might have a problem! Take my word for it, or do your homework and read up on FLIR!!!!!!!! You can rent one of these cameras from most local libraries, and use it yourself to check for leaks and inconsistencies. Disregard if you have a med card and are legal by state laws. Cheers!

i have the fan for my closet grow in the closet for the same reason. It works but the problem is that temp changes in the attic are so great that its hard to keep the temperature in the right range.
