i just got a test kit and found my ph is high off the chart. my plants started turning yellow and light green and some have brown spots some are curling up, some are curling down. but there not that bad, looks like they can all be saved still can this all be from the ph? i'm in soil mixed with perlite i have been using very little miracle grow every other feeding (no more my n2 was way high too) i got advanced nutes now.thanks

it most likely could be. I think the appropriate level is at 6.5-7. I have heard that dolomite lime will solve your ph problems, i hope i have been of some help

I your PH is that high I advise you to flush your pots. Once you have flushed them then you need to start balancing the PH of your water after nutrients are added to it and before you feed it to your babies. Boom Whomp is right that you want to try to get your PH at 6.5 - 7 when in soil.

ps is very important..if you (1)dont know what your ph should be for (2) dont know how to control it, your grow will be most difficult.

nice advice boom.. the lime helps to buffer the ph of the soil... and if you use mg soil, i know that you are not, but if you do, just add one cup of lime to bag of mg and it will help with all of the horror stories you hear of mg soil.. it will also help with anykind of soil.

Monitor closely over the next couple of days, if it was just the PH that was causing problems and that is now corrected the plants should not deteriorate any further. If however they are still getting worse then you know its not just the PH and a good flush would get you back to scratch so you can start getting your nutrients and PH balance right. If youre N2 levels were off the chart then its likely others will be also so you could be getting nute burn, looks a bit like it to me but would have to see if things get worse now you have PH correct to be sure, then if there are further problems, flush.

Dolomite lime will do nothing to help when the soil is already alkaline. Its meant to raise the ph of acidic soil. It can't lower the ph of alkaline soil.

ph should be at 6.5 ideally. Your pH being at 8 could and probably is the problem. Each .1 adjustment in ph is equivalent to a difference of 100 times the acidity or alkalinity depending on which way your going.(up or down)
