A good air pump helps a lot, I grow with a dual diapragm air pump and my water is very oxygenated, and my roots are all submerged.
Also keep your ph at around 5.5 to 6.3, and watch your ppms, when your plants are young lower nutrient ppms are called for, as they get older and the roots get stronger they require more nutes. Most new to DWC/bbp over do the nutes and burn the young plants.
It helps to use Hydrogen peroxide (H2o2) to help oxygenate your res, and keeps th bacteria down, and H2o2 is ph neutral, so it won't hurt your levels.
