Hi all, I know that phenos are essentially the different possible expressions of a genotype a plant can show. Knowing that, I assumed that as the environment could change, even slighty, by moving light distance etc, a same plant could potentially switch from indica or sativa pheno (hybrid genotype) on the same branch. But I had not witnessed it from my own eyes and I thought that even if it was possible, it would be a very slow change and it would take a lot of time. Now the reason Im telling u all this is because I started a plant from seed maybe 3 weeks ago, Strawberry Kush, an indica-dominant hybrid from ilgm breeder, as soon as the first true leaves popped out, you could tell these was big beefy indica leaves, even if they were small, and was very happy with it. Kept the lights (small cfl setup) really close, sprayed some water daily, stem grew beefy too. Then I transplanted to organic soil in bigger pot, topped after 4th node, waited 3 days and LST'd a little bit. While doing all this, i had a hard time keeping the lights at the right distance cause the planted was changing so fast so sometimes the plant would be a little bit too far or too close from the lights for a day. The problem now is that I noticed that when I look at my plant now after 3 weeks, while its still healthy, you can see all the new nodes are much more spaced than in the seedling stages before topping and leaves are much more thin, almost look like the sativa I was growing before. And when you look down the main stem u still see the big beefy leaves from early stages and you can tell they are definately not the same shape as the new ones. So my question is, is that possible for a plant to change pheno that easy and that fast ? That close (on the same branch), after topping or changing small things ?
