Can/should I LST?

Ok so I have a question. I have 4 plants 5 days into flower and one of them shot up past the rest by almost 18" now.. So my question is can I LST it? Or if there is any better options? I'm concerned she will smack the ceiling before she quits growing.

I'm in a 6x6x6.5 tent but my light is a good 12-15" thick and the plant is only about 2 feet from it.

My main reason for wanting to LST is so I can keep all the plants relatively the same height.

It's the plant closest to the camera(obviously lol) it's grown a good 7-10" since this picture was taken 3 days ago... I want to lower my lights for the other plants but I'm already getting to close to that one haha..

Thanks in advance

seems a bit late to start..... but i bet you can get her tied down to save space.... i would do it after you soak her and it may take a few days (not knowing how brittle or how far you plan on going with it of course)
just try not to break it :)

Yeah I figured my only option might be to just tie her down a bit and see what happens. She's still a little flexible right now. I figured the longer I wait the worse it can get...

Definitely time for training, and start with LST. What probably will happen is you are going to go HST, just to slow it down. What I mean is that you will probably end up snapping the stalk, and it will go to 90 degrees. Bring it back to vertical, and duct tape in that position, to keep it relatively upright. By the next day the plant will have healed, but you stunted it enough to give the rest of the plants time to catch up. Go for the LST, but if it snaps, don't freak out, all will be good.

image.jpg Look into monster cropping. Couldn't he essentially monstercrop and wouldn't it grow large "knuckles"?

Bend that tall b!tch where i drew the line. Massage the crap outta that stem and try to bend it down. The blue line is supposed to be string. You want to support it before you bend it.

That worries me.. I'm kinda worried for snapping the stalk...

Bear in mind it's grown a good 6" since this picture so would I still bend and tie it down that low on the plant? Or could o move up a node or 2? I plan on doing something tonight before she goes to sleep.

Personally, and I do mean personally, if this were my grow, I would let her do her thing. Since you are into flower and she is just recuperating from the switch...any severe changes like HST or Super cropping is going to shock the shit out of her, and could cause her to go all Kaitlin Jenner on ya. She should be past the 'stretch' or close to it now. Again, just what I would do, IMHO.

That's kind of why I figured LST is my best bet. Just tie her Down with minimal stress. I just switched to flower 5 days ago so wouldn't it still stretch some? Normally I would let her do her thing but she's cruising too fast and too high compared to the others. I'm going to sleep on it tonight and make a better decision tomorrow when I know more.

Gently 'leaning' her over with a tie off is probably not going to stress her out that much. You do not need to 'bend her' and certainly not break her. In your tent you may want to simply tie a piece of string between her and one of your support poles and pull her down a bit. You don't need to go as far as even a true LST would go and pull the top down below any other nodes. Just my thoughts anyway.

Good Luck and Great Growz

So I decided to tie her down a bit last night and this morning her top bent upwards which is what I was hoping for. Now I have a couple questions..

How long do I keep her tied? For the duration of the grow?

Also once my buds start coming in since she is off to the side a bit will the bud weigh her down too much? Will I need to keep her propped up some how? She's about 1.5' away from the pot so to speak.

Keep her tied until then end. Keep trying to bend it more and more.

Put a ziptie on your stalk. a string in between.... And finally a long zip/cable tie on the pot. You can adjust it bending down with the zip tie :) Little by little Every 3 days or so

You can wrap it around in a circle also :)

Just think if you supercrop. All of those lower nodes are going to grow a lot. The bent site should heal after a week or two

She's almost a week into flowering right now. Isn't it a little late to be flexing her around this much though? Sorry I'm new to the whole supercropping thing lol

Yes too late for bending drastically or supercropping. However if you can bend it little by little without snapping you should be fine. Sorry i didnt realize u were in flower
