can somebody tell me if these are done? close enough to start flush? long way to go..

I would say you can begin flushing. Try to get a better pic of her backed up a little bit so we can see the whole plant:leaf:

I think you can start flushing. If most all the hairs are red like the pics over the entire plant then you're close to done. Get a scope at Radio Shack for $10 and look at the trichomes. You can pull it when the trichomes are all cloudy, all red, or a mix- read up on it and decide what kind of high you want from it. Happy growing!

Use a microscope30 - 100x zoom,and look at the TRICHOMES
clear - NOT READY
milky - (soon) NOT READY
amber (redish) - DONE!

But the thing is, you have to harvest when 30 - 50% of trichomes turns amber (or more) but if you leave them too long the trichomes will start to deminish and you will loose potency and you should start your final flush a week before harvest

trichome-wise you have another week or two. I don't know how long you want to flush for.

But I dont believe that trichome reading alone is good enough to choose when to chop. Post a picture of the whole plant and it will be much easier.

You dont belive that trichomes reading alone is good enough?!?!?! Then what? What ELSE do you look for when you're thinking abouth harvest?

Almost everywhere ive read anything about harvesting say's that trichomes are the one guaranteed place to look if you want to know when its ready. Pistil color, bud size and aroma can vary between different strains, but almost all species' trichomes go through the same level of development.:weed:

Thats bullshit.
Trichomes can mature to amber and degrade to black by over-radiating them with excesive light. Some strain show amber trichomes at week 2 of flowering.

The first thing to wait for, with all strains, is for the pods to swell.
If the pods ain't swelling its not ready, no matter what anything else says.

Then the pistils should start to die off and shrivel back to the calyx.
Again, its not strain dependent.
At least 30% of the pistils should do so, with most strains its around 70% when ripe but if less than 30% are dying the plant is not ready.
They can be pink, brown, amber, purple or whatever - they should not be erect.

Only then the trichomes should be observed.

Trichomes are more of a fine tune.

I ran 7 runs to prove this theory and its solid so far.

Trichomes mature in 2 weeks? Say that again :D..Tell me the what strain, grow medium, nutes, lights and I'll put it to the test couse thats the 1st the I heard or seen anybody claim that + I done some growin myself. For the rest, I agree but in this case all this dude needs is a microscope and "fine tune" into harvest time.

Just to name a few.

You could find 10% or so amber trichomes on those at week 2.

Also, you could just put the plant very close to the light and they will change color in less than a day. With pretty much every strain.
My cloud #9 did it pretty drasticly this time.

I think this dude needs to watch for the other factors first and just then look into the trichome color.

Trichomes are where the THC is formed. How can you say looking at the trichomes is more of a fine tune? Oh by the way ive seen some pretty sweet pot grown that was harvested with less that 50% pistils turned red/brown,some not fully receided, and trichomes mostly amber, and this pot was killer on the body. For my personal preference, I like to pick when trich's are all cloudy with just a little amber. This gives me the heady high. Youve definetly got to take all things in consideration when it comes to readiness of your bud, but to think trichome's arent the most important is ridiculous.

Looking at the amber under HPS lights aint the right way how to dertiminate the amber status;) Couse under HPS all trichomes are "amber" ;)

I got a very bright LED in my scope and I turn off the lights while checking.
But nice try.

I'm done with this thread, I'm not here to argue about this kind of stuff. Have fun with the way you go, I don't have the time to force my information on anyone.
