Can someone please help me with silencing my inline? Proposed setup included.

I have a 490 cfm inline I am going to use it to filter air in two small sized rooms using a y connect and two charcoal filters. I am ordering a muffler for the exhaust and am using insulated ducting. My problem is I can still hear the fan inside. So instead of building a box I have been thinking of ways to silence it and spend as little as possible. I was thinking since I already have one i could put insulation inside of a rubbermaid tub and cut holes on each side for the ducts. I am worried about heat or harming the fan or whatever. Obviously I would use insulation that is fireproof. I read as long as there is air traveling through the fan it is okay. Is that true? Also the fan will be on 24/7 if that matters.

Here is the tub I am talking about:

Obviously a rubbermaid isn't going to insulate as well but if you fill the negative space with good insulation I don't see why it wouldn't work. Obviously you need the container to be strong enough to handle the weight of the unit. But yeah, I mean, MDF is probably better, but since you're asking for a more DIY approach, I don't think there's anything wrong with adapting a proper sized rubbermaid with good insulation. As Le pic said, the fan cools itself from the inside and therefore is not a concern. You can just wrap the mofo in a thick blanket even. Wouldn't work as well as a box and insulation, but should help.
