I beleive it will work as long as u keep your ph and ppm/tds at the right levels. A ph kit/or pen and tds/ppm meter will solve a lot.

Based on your 2011 water report (http://www.ccwater.com/files/AWQR11.pdf) your water looks fine. Most if it says ND which means non-detected, which is great. Your nitrates - the #1 thing to look out for, especially in farming areas - is very low. Calcium is fine. Your pH is normal and your hardness is right in the middle. Not real soft, but not to hard either.

The bacteria Cryptosporidium in the beginning sounds a little scary, but from the light reading I did, it seems like it only effects people with bad immune systems and you normally get it from drinking untreated water from a lake or stream. It won't hurt your plants and as long as your water is coming from your city its being treated and it should be fine.
