Can`t control temp when cloning!

Hey guys im having trouble keeping my temp down in my cloning tray... without my heating pad the tray is like 78 to 82 degrees, however, with my heating tray it goes to like 88-96 inside the dome.

Shold i get rid of my heating pad?

Any other ideas?


Venting my humidity dome to remove heat, but therefore losing humidity??

ugh, i dunno.

the warmer the better for the soon to be roots, dosent sound to me like you have a problem, just keep them watered by spraying the leaves.

Wow, so I can keep those temperatures as long as the humidity is above 80 and the leaves don't dry out?

If your temps are 78-82 without a heating mat then you dont need the mat. I personally use a heating mat attached to a temperature controller which cuts power to the heating mat when the temps inside the tray reach 80. I picked up a digital one made by Hydrofarm for about $30 on Ebay. It has a probe that you can stick into an empty rockwool cube or any other media that you're using in your tray so the temps are spot on.
