Yes it can be reused however fresh soil is always best 
I have reused my ffof many times and am currently..you remove as much f the roots from previous plants as possible and can sterilize the soil...

hell ..the stuff I use ( cheap MG potting mix ) gets better after you get all the preferts out of it ... I'm so damned cheap ... lol

Never re-use soil it is packed with Nutriants from the last grow that would probly kill a new plant. Even if you flushed it the old roots would no doubt rot and take any new ones with it!!

I would never re-use soil. Too many roots from the previous grow, plus salt build ups. It's not good for a new plant.

Well maybe if folks didn't grow with synthetic shit in soil in the first place and instead relied on the soil food web and some organic amendments...
And why the hell is everyone so afraid of the roots from the previous grow? What do you guys figure happens to plant roots after a plant dies? How do you suppose so many other plants are able to grow everywhere on Earth with all those plants which have previously lived and left dead roots?

I am going to re use my soil once i am done with this first grow. Gonna mix in a lil fresh soil and go with it. The old roots will break down and compost into the soil, dont know why people would be worried with that. And i have wondered about this, and heard many different reason why you can and why you cant. You can refresh used soil by mixing it with "garden soil", which is cheap as fuck. (inversely, you can stretch cheap "garden soil" by mixing it with used soil, lol... either way, it's the cheapest route)
I used MG organic garden soil in my first grow, mixed it with promix because it's too hot and needs to be taken down 50/50. Still use it... mix it with my old FFOF soil for my outdoor vegetable garden, but I don't see why you can't refresh old soil with any kind of charged garden soil. (It's mad cheap too, $5 for 2½ cubic ft bag at walmart)
Of course, I'm of the opinion that MG soil should come with a coupon for free flypaper being that every bag is loaded with insects, so I don't recommend it unless you're prepared to deal with all manner of pests.

If the plant was flushed properly then salt build up shouldn't be a concern plus that is what the sterilization is supposed to be for
as I said most don't recommend it but it is more than fine to reuse soil

This dude nailed it. WTF is wrong with feeding dead root material... ever heard of Hygrozyme? SensiZyme? ProZyme? all those turn that material into PERFECT nutrition for your plants! And FFOF gets better with age. If you have salt build up, then youre not organic. Sure you need to ammend it along the way, but it's better 2 or 3 grows in. Long release nutes & shit. I don't use FFOF anymore, but it works.

I put my old soil in either my compost bin or my worm bin. Both ways recycle it into good stuff. People have been growing plants on the same patches of soil outdoors as long as mankind has been growing for food. As long as your taking the correct steps and not over doing it, soil can be re-used. I've found that my worms really like it as a bedding material. They break it down fairly quickly.

ok ...one o our previously unreleased ghetto secrets ... your soil can get better with each grow ... Big ole worms !! lotys of em !! let your used soil rest a few weeks with about 100 worms in it.. we feed some coffee grounds , used tea .... worms will upgrade your soil , nutralize the toxins , and give you the best and freshest worm casting you can get gets even the cheapest soil closer to organic with ever run ! true story ....
