This absolutely sux, but if just ONE of y'all out there listens it'll have been worth my time. Do you SMOKE cigs? Fucking STOP that shit!! (as I continue to do so.. Yep, I'm stoopid.) I have already had one procedure done and now find I need my left side done. This involves bypassing the flow of blood in the carotid freaking artery and doing a "roto-rooter" job on it. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get a carotid ultra-sound done as a preventative measure. Insist on this!!! insurance doesn't wanna pay for this shit but it COULD just save yer life!! By the way...........Flo Is just HOT!! (sorry, just sayin')

I wondered how you were doing on your left side. I'm sorry to see it's come to this. I had really hoped you were gardening up a storm.. Good to see you and I'm sorry to see this.

My mom was one of the first patients for this procedure. She survived the surgery but the neurologist blew her heart out by pumping up the pressure to keep the arteries open to the brain. We had a neurologist, a cardiologist, a endocrinologist, etc., and not one was communicating with the others and an internist would have prevented this disaster. So the lesson we learned was you need to have a Internist who coordinates all the doctors.

FYI-She was amongst the first and knew she might not survive. That was about 26 years ago and things have changed much since then and it isn't as dangerous as it used to be.

Saying prayers and sending good vibs your way.

Please don't let what I said scare you. I just hadn't 'talked' to another person that has had this done too. If it was me I'd do it.

Day surgery? No shit. Wow I remember with my mom they had people all over her for days. It's nice to know that they have 'perfected' it. Please 'Quit smoking cigs' we don't want to bad things to happen to you.

Nice seeing you too.

I dumped them 13 years ago after close to 30 years. You can do it - you just have to consider yourself a "Non-smoker" & not look back.
Prayers to you bro.

Yea man. Sending good vibes your way. Surgery is a bitch, but if it makes your right, get on it.

I smoked for 13 years. One day I woke up and said, "Im done." - I threw away the pack I had, and have never looked back. For the first few months I could steadily feel/see improvements in my overall health. (Like going to the gym) -- Then after a few months, my breathing patterns, eating habits and everything else positive that comes along with stopping came along.

Quitting cigarettes is the number 1 best decision I have ever made in my life. Ever.

And now that its having an adverse effect on your physical being, I suggest you take a hard nose look at yourself and commit to stopping. If not for selfish reasons, do it for the people who care about you.

Well, surgery went well. They did it yesterday at 11:00. Well enough that I'm questioning Vanderbilts rep. I had the same procedure done last year at Vandy, and was one miserable shit for about 3 weeks. Really only fully recovered after about 6. This time, so far, there is none of the swelling, not nearly as much pain as there was the last time. We'll see, but overall a much less stressful thing than I had counted on and I am pleasantly surprised. Definitely hit the quit button on cigs. Probably easier said than done I know but gotta happen. Now maybe i can be around for many more harvests.
