Can we finally come to terms? The USA is racist.

Judging by Trumps approval rating, between 36%to 39% of voting age adults in this nation are racists. That's a harsh assessment you say? Ok let me shave off 50% to account for people who voted for him for purely economic reasons. That leaves 18% to 19% of Trump voters. 26 million out of 200 million American adults is about 12.6%.

Roughly 1 out of 10 adults in this country is racist.

Does that line up with people's experiences? I'm not singling out white people but they're percentage is probably higher. All races have their racists. I've met racists of every ethnicity. That whole Burma situation is real. Anyway carry on.

Oh and I'm baked but I'm pretty sure the math is sound. I got the population from the 2010 census, and the voting numbers from the FEC website.

There is only one race of humans on earth at this time. The Human Race. However, bias based on skin color or ethnicity is much higher than 10%. It's a normal human response.

My answer would have been much different two long , long years ago...Trump exposed something I never realized was so prevalent because I don't associate with people who openly think that way...I would be fine if they all scurried back under their rocks

Me too. Then I had a kid and moved to the country so he could be near his grandparents. He's an only child with no cousins and I wanted him to get some sense of family. Mission accomplished. Time to move.

But I am glad "I seen it". Now it is time to once again "find a city; find myself a city to live in."

The people I work with are such a bunch of fucking rednecks. Friday one of my co-workers was discussing how "Trump isn't doing anything different then Obama did with his use of executive orders (forgetting how they whined about his Unconstitutional Presidency). At the end of the day, I saw a woman I work with heading home. She is having surgery on her Trumpish sinuses next week. So I popped out the side door to wish her luck. When I opened the door, she was photographing my car. Apparently I had parked too close to her. It was about four feet. So I guess I will be hearing from HR next week.

Human is a species. Within that species they have different races.
One reason it is important to know and understand this is medical. Different races require different meds and different treatment due to different illnesses

Yep. When the ability of people to affect their government is effectively severed and economic inequality is magnified to obscene levels, people start looking for any excuse or scapegoat. Racism has always been convenient and available. Hatred of the outsider in general, they don't even have to be a different race.

Historians will look back on this time as America's second Great Depression- if we survive it, that is.
