Can weed smell can go through the glass of a cool tube???

Ive just changed my vivosun carbon filter to a more expensive mountain air filter and it still smell. I exhaust the air through the dryer's duct and when i go outside theres a skunky draft when we pass near it. Ive put some extra tape on the filter, cooltube and even the duct where i think there could be leak on but it still smell so my last option may be the filter itself or the glass could be the only leak i could think of ???

I built a wooden box for 4mm activated carbon pellet scrubber action and it was grand.
I passed the air through an AC filter first then the carbon and then again through a second AC filter.
That was rather good. Noisy but good.

I would say that there is no absolute fool proof setup for odor control. Especially when it comes to drug dogs.
So I hope folks will chime in with ideas you can benefit from.

Dryer Duct especially if it is the aluminum foil type has holes in it. It can't be helped.
I have bought the expensive 6 inch ducting from Amazon and it looks rather good with it's nice construction.

One idea I have is to mix your exhaust with fresh air to dilute it. Maybe get a cardboard box and pipe the air into it so it mixes? Just an idea.

So, trust me I understand. I was in a 20 foot trailer in a low income trailer park with people 20 to 30 feet away from my grow box and able to stand 6 inches away from the grow box and the side wall when they wanted so I totally get odor control.

Personally I think 4 mm activated carbon pellet that we can change ourselves is much better than the unknown ready made units out there. Maybe they are good maybe they are not. Is the carbon the best or is it old and already plugged up with stuff from sitting around on a shelf for years?

Activated Carbon has pores. That is how it removes odor. Co2 will plug it up as well as other organic vapors.

So there are lots of factors.

If you absolutly have to kill all odor perhaps there are peeps that have experience with Ozone.
As long as Ozone has the time and the volume to do it's work it can be something I hope others can explain.

There is a big difference between pushing air threw air cooled tubes and pulling air threw the air cooled tubes. Pushing air is positive air pressure, if there are holes in the ducting or something the air will push threw the holes, and opposite if pulling the air. If pulling the air, then if u have holes it pulls "unfiltered" air threw the holes. Imagine u have a drinking straw... and there is a hole in the straw when u blow air threw the straw, if there is a hole air will blow out the hole, now if u suck threw the straw where the hole is will pull air threw that hole.

That and what @bk78 said above 70% humidity fucks the pores on filters.

When I used to run them I'd push through.
Filter >fan>CT>CT>CT>chimney

Used dryer duct, the plastic kind after the fan , acoustic duct after the last Cool Tube.
Never a problem.

That way your only issues could be high humidity stopping carbon working or low quality filter not packed full or too much airflow over the filter.

Like the guy above said, pulling through your increasing your chance of problems considerably.

Always wise to oversize your filter too.

Some strains a filter won’t even work to scrub the stank. If you’re in a real humid environment as well that’ll really shorten the life of your filter.
never had this issue with my previous strain but since i popped those rugburn og damn its smelly as fuck and i keep my rh under 55 %

will check later on for the fesh air mix but i dont understand what u mean by "co2 will plug it up" since i run co2 too??

yeah thats what i was thinkin and thats why a ive looked for poken holes in the duck and put tape over it but i think that ill eventually change the whole duct just to be sure

Did my exhaust set up that way because i run co2 in it and i dont want to have high co2 concentration in my room so thats why its exhausted outside. Like my set up is a1k hps with a 4inch filter in 4x4 tent in a bedroom with door shut and i got a opened trap in the bottom of the tent for the room air go through it and mix in the tent and exhausted out after. My blower is a 4 inch with 210 cfm kept at medium low to have optimal scrubbing and to keep as much co2 as it can and to last longer at 1200-1300 ppm.

As far as I know Activated Carbon is used to remove Co2.

Activated Carbon-based Carbon Dioxide Adsorption Process Abstract This process uses activated carbon to adsorb 65 tonnes of CO2 from a coal-fired power plant per day using activated carbon sorbents at 93% purity using a two-stage adsorption process that uses vacuum swing adsorption. The flue gas first is pressurized and dehydrated using cooling and chilled water. The stream is then sent into a packed activated carbon column at 1.11 bar until CO2 saturation, upon which the column is depressurized to 0.5 bar and the CO2 is desorbed. The gas is then sent into a second adsorption stage at 1 bar until CO2 saturation, and desorbed at 0.52 bar. The resulting CO2-rich stream is then sold and transported by pipeline for enhanced oil recovery at $20/tonne CO2. I'm no expert but I have believed that Filters absorb Co2.

Anyone? I could be wrong here so let the wisdom of the people school me if necessary.

While on the subject of the activated carbon itself:

I am an old school Coal Based 4 mm pellet Activated Carbon guy.
What is this Coconut based Activated Carbon like? Anyone ever compare the two?
Sure sure there is a lot of waste product in the Coconut industry so it's a goodly use but any comparisons?

Maybe try blowing or sucking just the light.
Put up a plastic wall system.
Small AC.

Then, I take it, regulate the Co2 inside of that room in a room?

Keep the stink in and fughetaboutit with the expensive filters.
I'm guessing the Filter companies and the Stores are not exactly bending over backwards to warn people about filters getting used up too fast?
Why would the when they sell more and more expensive eh?
