Hey ive got a bunch of plants vegging right now and theyre about a week or so away from flowering, its really hard to tell if theyre male or female, so if I wanted to put them into flowering for a week, would I still be able to take a mother plant from that and be able to clone it without any problems? or would it be a better idea to just wait and see for the preflowers??

Yes you can. In fact, you can flower the females all the way to harvest, then pick the best one and reveg her and use her for a Mom.

You can take clones from all the plants and mark them so you know what is what and then when you can sex the older plants and know what is what you toss out the male clones and then you have the females to grow for mothers. That way you can have several mothers or just pick the most vibrant one and keep her.

reveg the plant you want to be the mother, i took clones 1 week into flowering after i found out sex, i should have reveged it then took clones, they take easier!

in flowering i had a very low sucess rate so now i'm going to grow a mother from a flourishing surviving clone and try again, i will try to reveg my best plant after harvest too.

you could do what was suggested and take clones from all plants while they're still in veg, and then weed out the ones who's 'parents' are turn out to be males. this would save some time but would be a pita unless you don't need alot of clones but have enough sites to grow alot.

This is what i personally would do to (hopefully) minimize stress to the plants. I would put your plants into flower, and after 10-14 days, when you know which plants are female, put them back into veg, and keep it there. This way, you KNOW the plant is a female, and you can grow clones from it much easier from veg than from flower.

Actually all the plants have started showing dominant pre flowers and out of 4 mazars and 11 white russians, i only had 4 males ! and all the mazar were female, nuts.
