This is done all the time to determine sex, before full vegging and flowering.

to show sex it depends on the strain/plant sativa takes a bit longer,yeah u can do a (pre-flower) to show sex ..then put it under the lights as if u were vegging..

You would be better off pulling a clone and putting it stright into 12/12 You would waste a month waiting for the plant to go back into veg.....

Why stress the plant, and waste the time, when a cutting will give you the same results?
