You can but it will take a while to revert to veg(very time consuming),you could cover one branch on each of your plants and 12/12 to determine sex if you must(tedious work),it usually takes around 30 days for your plant to show pre flower,my advice is to be patient

Its not really that time consuming i do it every time i have to seed a new mom istead of clone a mom. in about a week pistils will show, the ploant might get a little height boost due to lack of lght, but the plant wont go into full out flowering so reverting back isnt really an issue

well the plant doesnt just stop growing when it goes into flowering so if you just 12/12 until pistols show on a mature enough plant, then once pistils show switch light cycles back the plant will just stop flowering

So i take it i should just stick with my veg ferts/nutes?

Sorry for busting in on this thread but I asked the same question a while back and got some shaddy responses to this approach. Glad to here others have done it successfully. BTW, can one throw them into a 10/10 light scheduale to speed up this process? Any other tips or info would be appreciated.
Thanks.

a 24 hour day has nothing to do with it. you can have the lights on 10 hours then off 10 hours then back on 10 hours then off again. not all timers are 24 hour timers. there are good timers out there that you can set to any schedule you want.

I think it is kind of funny when people talk about millions of years of evolution and you have to mimic nature. How do you know where these plants spent the last million years again? I think plants have a mechanism for measuring comparing dark to light cycle and that is all it is. But I am not an expert...

10 on 10 off would whack you out as a human being though. You wouldn't know when the fuck you lights were coming on and going off next. I was considering 11/13 to help push mine along though. Wonder how much quicker they'd finish if I dropped them to 10/14.. hmmm tempting....
