can you grow a plant with 24 hour on until the flowering stage?

im wondering if it would be faster to grow plant on 24 hours of light until force flowering at 12/12 of light, would it harm the plant? would this increase the yield or decresase it once compared to 18/6 of light then 12/12 at flowering

Personally I do 20/4 untill flowering, You can do 24/0 if you want, It's down to personal preference

The root system growth is best in the dark when the plant isn't devoting it's resources to photosynthesis. I like 18/6 to 20/4.

You cant run 24/7 can you,so stop that shit and stop the stunting of ur plants 18/6 is the best for plants, the plants photo period happens and at night the plants get ready for next day so let it sleep man and u will not regrit it,If u dont trust me try one on 24/0 and one on 18/6 and see for ur self that always helps and u can judge for ur self which is better for ur plants,GOOD LUCK BRO!!!and it is less shock to plants going from18/6 to 12/12 ur just give them more of a dark period than no dark to holy shit go to sleep what the fuck is going on man what do we do,U get what i'm sayin bro,Again good luck!!!

I get nice healthy plants on 24/7 for two weeks. And I don't regret it.

I do 24/7 lighting all the way till flower works great for me, I tryed 18/6 thought it suxs,I use t5 lighting for veg

also seems like they start flowering faster if you go 24/7 to 12/12

I do 24\0 when I use CFLs as heat is usually not a problem and electricity usage is pretty low. Another timer is something I usually don't have and i've never noticed much difference using 18\6 or another light regime.
I go 18\6 when I run my 400W to save electricity and set the dark time to the hottest part of the day to keep the room from overheating.

I'm going to put my plants under 16\8 for a week or so this run around to save electricity and because its only a week before flowering.

I've seen a similar post where two growers were going at it between 24/7 vs. 18/6 vs. 12/12 up until flowering, they were throwing facts around but honestly i can't quote any of it. what i did take from it was that it also depended on the lighting. seemed as if there was no significant difference in either of the test grows, but I would imagine if you were growing under cfls (as i do) 24/7 may work better since your giving your plant light that's less intense. If i were to do a grow with an HID. I think i would go the 18/6 route if only to save on energy and like i said they would be getting more intense light in those 18 hours. I'm no expert like i said. Just some of my own personal logic. Don't know if it makes much sense

If there was a noticeable difference after all this time don't you think there would be a more definitive answer? I've tried both and the ONLY reason that I run 18/6 and not 24/0 anymore is because I don't notice that the veg time is any faster on 24/0. It doesn't seem slower OR faster so why waste the extra 6 hours of light?

You're paying for all that electricity so I've found that really it's a matter of being 25% more efficient by turning the shit off.

iv tried 24/7 and 18/6 and there was not a lot to tell(obviously because you cant see the roots), but to be honest its best to let the roots develope. they require a dark period. id do 18/6 its better for the plant. happy plant = better yield

it makes sense, better on electricty and a better root growth. the sun isnt in the sky 24/7 (maybe in the artic circle, aint no plants there)

shrig, the dirt in the valley isn't coco with perlite and doesn't have chem nutes in it. Usually.

Ruderalis is used to growing in 24 hours of light. I do 18/6 to save electric but honestly 24/7 is giving an extra day every 4 days and the main point is just dont do 12/12 before the plant matures no matter how you get there. 24 gets you there faster
