I know im going to move onto a 4x8 in a couple months (definitely by the end of this year) and im going to do my first grow in a 2x2 or 3x3, since I know im getting a 4x8 tent I was going to get either a 6 or 8 inch carbon filter (forgot which one) but I was wondering if I put the 6/8 inch fan in a 3x3 would it be to powerful and not work or would it work fine E.g would it create negative/positive pressure? Idk which one I need in a grow tent all I know is that it shouldn’t puff up like it’s about to explode.

A fan with higher CFM rating will cycle the volume of air in a tent more frequently than a lower CFM fan. Likewise, with the fan CFM held constant, a smaller tent will have its air volume exchanged more frequently than a larger tent. No matter what, to make air move you have to make differential pressure in or out, - or +.

If you're concerned that it might be too much flow for the small tent, get a fan with enough CFM for the large tent with a speed controller, so you can dial it down in the small tent.
