Can you picture Jesus using genocide as Noah’s God did?

The O.T. God has been described as the vilest Godimaginable.

The N.T. shows Jesus as a much softer and gentler and lovingGod.

Many say that Jesus is God even though there are many whodispute that notion for a number of good reasons.

For this O P, I will assume that there is a Trinity. If youare a Trinitarian, then you would have to see the non-judgemental Jesus whowould not even stone a prostitute, as the judgemental O.T. God of Noah’s day,--- who will even drown babies and children.

How do you reconcile the O.T. God with the kind, gentle andforgiving Jesus?

Some will point to a new covenant but God himself says thatnothing he says will ever be retract and Jesus himself referred back to the oldcovenant in the bible so let’s not argue that please.

Can you picture Jesus doing the vile things that scripturessay he did in the O.T.?

Its very simply, there were obviously false prophets in the Bible and also, some of the stories in the Bible are fallacious myths. What is the truth? I dont believe most of the Bible because its all mostly metaphorical in nature. Im sure there are some facts in the Bible but I cant discern the facts from the fairy tales. The Bible is a good piece of literarure if you like fables and legends and interesting stories that are pure fiction. The Bible was like the origional spiritual science fiction of its day. Im not going to say the old testament is obsolete, but its surely not science fact. Who can prove one supernatural thing ever happened from Biblical days with emperical evidence? I dont think one supernatural thing has ever been emperically proven.

But Im glad there is a Bible, I read it, I have read the New Testament a handful of times and there are good morals and spiritual things in there. The Bible is still the best selling book ever, so you know some people have to like it. I will probably read the New Testament again even though Im an Agnostic. Its good literature even though I dont think the Bible properly depicts God all the time.

I agree that it is all fiction and yes, it has some good morals but only if you reverse the morals that the Christians get from it.

For instance, they think I moral, like in the case of Jesus, to profit from the torture and murder of an innocent man.

I find that quite sick.

I, personally, dont think the Bible is all fiction, but a lot of it seems to be fiction.

But youre right, it is sick that the Christians base their religion off a man that was brutally murdered and thats supposed to be for the forgiveness of sins. My question is what would the Christians believe if Jesus had a natural death? It doesnt matter because the Bible is based off fallacious myths anyways. But the fact is that no one knows what really happened in Biblical times, but we all should use our best judgement and logic to discern.

I dont condemn anyone for being a Believer, and I dont condemn anyone for being an Atheist. Im an Agnostic, I dont know the truth in the Bible.

No one does, but we can be sure that it is myth with a message.

I do not like the Christian view as they end calling evil good and adoring a genocidal son murdering God.

Because Man wrote the Bible....
It will be written as if a man wrote it, and many men did write the stories...
Believe anything you want...
My dad died believing Jesus was coming back, soon...
So, in his death he met Jesus, that was his desire...
If you want to meet Jesus that believe on him...
If you don't want to believe in Jesus, than believe in a bad evil god that will smite you down...
Nobody really believes god will smite them anymore....
I did when I was 14... but WTF... My brain grew...

In all things, I give thanks... It has nothing to do with god... OT or NT...
It has to do with giving thanks, and being thankful and at peace from within...

Belief in an archetypal Jesus is fine.

Belief in the Trinity Jesus is to believe in a pick of a God and that is the main Jesus to way too many.

Seek God but not that one.

I agree with your view of going within.

I don't want to be caught in the crossfire.

God only interests me in the phenomena that humans need one. Conceptually emerging in independent cultures, the worship of another force or something beyond. We need to have our curiosity about the meaning of it all answered instinctually.

Too much preoccupation with the why of life clouds the joy of living it.
