Can you re-harvest?

It has been outdoor all its life. I was doing remodeling and putting on the outside patio whe i started this plant so it got bad sunlght for the first month. it goes through a 3 month veg state and then buds this pic i posted is about 5 weeks into bud cycle so 4 1/2 monthsold roughly.I give no water in rains almost everyday. they look stringy bt totally fill in with bud. they produce colas. Every pant i have grown as of today has acted the same way. the seeds are from a local seller and they only grow sativa strains. i hae grown 6 strains and had same growth patterns. I am tying a indica this fall.

I can not change the light it is outside! but other than that i find your post very interesting! thanks.
So if it does not come out of he bud cycle it should remain budding as long as it has buds to mature?
since the light wont change
right?
wouldnt doing it indoors be the same as outdoors? like if i kept a indoor plant under 12/12 and just cut finished buds and allow it to keep going. i dont know, fdd2k you must of tried it b4 indoors, right? i dont think it will work cuz i havent heard of it very much and if ya could you'd think people would talk about it.

when i was in the states i did indoors. but theses seeds are auto flowering and from the region. i have no place to buy any indoor light equptment. i would have to hunt it all down.
but now its out side trouble free and no electric costs.
this plant is a bublegum sativa , sweet smell and taste and knocks you down with a speed rush to your body. I LOVE IT! the high lasts about 4 hours before you take another puff.

Yes, but what I think Dark is getting at, for every clone you double your output...it's better to go that route.

well, we are all off topic here anyway. i got so caught up i didnt notice his 2nd post. he's got a hell of a good question ive been looking for the answer to also. if u keep it on 12/12 and only harvest ripe buds and that will it keep making new bud sites and flower forever? it would be awesome if it worked but like i said if it doesnt work indoors why would it work outdoors? ive always heard it wont but i did like 2 pre-harvests where i took off the finished colas and both times my plant kept making new ones to replace the removed ones. unfortunetly my experiment was abruptly ended because i had no choice but to kill it. so i dont know for sure but their must be a reason everybody doesnt do it that way.....i just dont know what it is. maybe the plant loses vigor and growth slows to a crawl?

I get it but I'm not sure it is possible. If there is no light "push/pull", then perhaps the plant can be kept in bud limbo... but how did it get to bud phase? So it vegged at 12/12 and then at "some" point it buds, still at 12/12. I'm guessing there is an undercurrent of a time line at work no matter the cycle.

Now I did read of a mountainous place in Spain where they swear they have "perennial" weed, and it stays green all year, every year. It is possible perhaps.

true crackerjax but what if i started at 18/6 vegged till it shows its ready then switch to 12/12 then just harvest the finished buds and stay at 12/12? sorry its a little off topic columbiagrower, its just this has been driving me crazy.

Wasn't that the idea behind the Phototron? I think it may be possible. Weed was once a perennial, and then made the switch to being an annual (amazing). I'm just thinking that as an annual there is a temptation for the plant to shut down after buds are completed. Either that or disease will move in as the plant tires. In the end though, I don't know. Sounds like a project.

we all finish at 12/12. the buds ripen and STOP growing. once the flowers fully flower, it's over.

i am on the equator so my light cycle is 12/12 all the time it only changes about an hour. It buds on its on when it is ready. 2-3 months after seed it starts.

if buds just kept growing then wouldn't we all just keep our flowering plants?

THEY STOP GROWING. :wall:

Are we all on the equator? I know all the fruit trees here just produce and keep on producing! So who knows! I know it worth a shot and I have nothing to lose!

And when they stop growing what happens will it die or re vet to veg state? then it will rebud! thats all i am trying to do ultimately! not have it bud for ever , but that would be nice!
