the bud on the left looked a bit more crystally to me, so i would assume it was the hid one. but like most everyone on this thread i am in no way convinced that this is an accurate or fair comparison. i will NEVER believe 200w of led compares to 1000w of hid unless i did the grow myself.
 
I thought the bud on the left looked better too, but my intuitive mind told me that LED guy wants me to choose the best looking but for HID. So I chose the opposite. And almost everybody else did the same. We're smarter than you think!

This reminds me of the Princess Bride.
 
What you need to do to have a non biased experiment is to have two identical clones from the same plant, place one under a 150w hps and the other under a 150 led, keep them the same distance from the light, go 12/12 from the start, no training, let them grow naturally, feed and water the two the exact same amount at the same time, harvest at the exact same time, weigh the plants wet and dry, compare the results. If you're gonna compare bud size the only thing you should fairly be able to compare is the main cola and that's it.
 
They look too similar to possibly tell a difference and guess correctly. I think the point everyone should take from this is that a much lower w LED was able to produce buds that look exactly the same as a 1000w HID
Although there are things to note about that (top buds from each will look pretty similar but a much higher watt HID should grow more bud than a lower watt LED)
 
I agree this is not a fair or accurate way to guage the differences in the lights but I voted LED on left, HID on right based on the appearance of density. The one on the right looks tighter formed and denser so that's what makes me think it's HID.

Personally, I'm an HPS man. LED's are just too space age'y for me. Maybe one day. When they are more affordable.

Just curious, since I've seen links to your confined space 850w led master kush grow in several places.

There seems to be documentation of your grow on youtube posted by the user Ledgrowlightsdirect, with links to www.ledgrowlightsdirect.com advertised in the video.

Do you have any affiliation with the company that sells the lights you are using for your journal grows or is your grow's appearance in their youtube commercial just an odd coincidence?

lmao Now you are about to turn this thread into a whole new subject.If you wanted a fair answer you should have gave same bud size i mean who come points of a gram instead of colas or harvests.
It sounds like you had a hidden agenda altering photos and all that funny shit..
 
I'm just wondering why there are 4 choices in the poll when there are only 2 buds.
If you choose left bud is LED then you must also choose right bud to be HID.

I watched your grow thread from start to finish and it definitely shows that LED has a great future for many growers. If you mention your total yield maybe LEDs will get a bit of respect.
 
i agree with that, in general i agree that leds do not compare to hids...i have a 600 hid myself...wouldnt have it nay other way...looking into either another 6 or maybe a k. any input on this grumpy? 2 6s or 1k and 1 6?
