Alberta is becoming a laughingstock, thanks to Danielle Smith

Smith says new methane emissions regulations are “illegal,” but Alberta already has an agreement with Ottawa under existing federal legislation

If Danielle Smith felt shame, she would be embarrassed by this morning’s press release claiming Canada’s intent to regulate 75 per cent methane (instead of the current 45 per cent) emissions reduction is illegal and unconstitutional. Canada already has the regulation. Has had since 2018. In fact, Alberta has an equivalency agreement with the federal government under the regulation that runs to 2025. How does the Premier not know this? If she does know it, how in blue blazes can she be that cynical?

“Given the unconstitutional nature of this latest federal intrusion into our provincial jurisdiction, our government will use every tool at our disposal to ensure these absurd federal regulations are never implemented in our province,” Smith and her environment minister Rebecca Schulz said in a joint statement.

Should be re-titled as Alberta's Climate Denial minister ffs.

I thought this place was going downhill with Kenney as premier but then they got rid of him and put this female tRump wannabe in his place. Then the idiots in this province actually voted her in to complete the carnage started years ago by the conservatives here with Ralph Klein.

I'm praying that they actually get started twinning the highway that goes past my place so I get bought out and can gtfo of this province! I've seen the plans and the two new lanes go right over my house. Already feel like I've been run over tho. :(

You know that they’ll bend you over no lube with a buyout. Sending good thoughts on azimuth 030.

I think I'll do better with a buyout than a private sale unless some big industry starts up here to create a demand for local housing and that's a pie in the sky dream. I got the place for 50G 20 years ago because it wouldn't sell and would be lucky to get 100G for it now and it's in lots worse shape than when I bought it. Market value is closer to 200G. Other than keeping the place livable I'm not investing any more time and money into it than I have to. I didn't have money or credit until recently and that's mostly credit. Less than 2 years on the mortgage at $250/mth so cheap place to live in today's market at least.

Just after I bought it the local realtor came over and said he could get me over 200 if I sold then. Should have took the money and ran.

Justin Trudeau has had a terrible year personally and politically. In August, he announced separation from his wife of 18 years. The Canadian economy is stressed with interest rates seemingly entrenched at a 22-year high and people reeling under a high cost of living and a deepening housing crisis.
It is the bank of Canada that sets the interest rates, not the federal government. 4.75% interest is the highest in 22 years, yep. My first mortgage was 12.75%.

Told my F*ck Trudeau flag flying buddy that since JT was separated, here's his opportunity to do as his flag suggests.

I know, right? And you thought Biden was bad.

Thanks to Joe, you guys have the best economy in the G20, yet you want to replace him with an idiot.

A perfect summary of the rise of totalitarian sentiment in our beleaguered republic.
Yes, you may be correct, time will tell.

Our country (assuming you are an American) is in a downward fall and I’m all for unity and a government we can rely on.

There are a multitude of voters that think Biden is too old to handle another 4 years of running the country. This includes several democrats including Congressman Dean Phillips from Minnesota, the 54 year old millionaire and Dean Phillips, a three-term U.S. Representative, also from Minnesota. Both men have been critical of Joe Biden’s bid.

We need to find a Democrat that will fulfill that bill, otherwise there will be a Republican running the country. Do you have any suggestions? I'm asking this with all due respect.
