Cannabis roots have been used for thousands of years for medicinal purposes.

Introduction: The roots of the cannabis plant have a long history of medical use stretching back millennia. However, the therapeutic potential of cannabis roots has been largely ignored in modern times.

Discussion: In the first century, Pliny the Elder described in Natural Histories that a decoction of the root in water could be used to relieve stiffness in the joints, gout, and related conditions. By the 17th century, various herbalists were recommending cannabis root to treat inflammation, joint pain, gout, and other conditions.

To prepare the root, all reccommend a good scrub with brush and water to remove all loose soil, debris, and loose feeder root hairs. i also pulled any weakly attached roots apart to ensure no dirty cracks remain. I still have some finer scrubbing to do, but ill let them dry for now in shaded spot. As a long time organics practicioner, i use a rent bucket to rot my weeds back down to solution for feedings after rains. To 'theRent' i send all feeder and smallish root bits as well as noxious weeds. Composting or otherwise process your organic wastes to keep your circle small is a good practice to have.

I'll let them dry some before i chop smaller and place in a mesh basket to completely dry out. A few have said to get the roots smaller to ensure grinding is easier. i plan to capture the medicinals through a boiled water-oil method.
