So I was reading Subcool's thread on canopy management 101. I found this information to be very helpful, but I had some questions I thought I might run by everyone.
I'm currently at the end of my 4th week of flowering on a strain that typically finishes out at about 9 weeks. So, I'm roughly halfway there. I read in Subcool's post about cleaning up the lower branches.
Anyone care to weigh in?

This is in reference to first moving the plants into flowering. What I'm wondering is am I too far in to think about trimming up the junk at the bottom of my plants that do not see light? I would like to get rid of the scrap if it's not beneficial. I would definitely like to get rid of this if it means larger buds up top. However, I do not want to damage or stunt my plants by removing lower branches. This is the time when we clean up our plants removing any smaller shoots that are shaded still so that this energy that would have gone to produce fluff and added time to trimming can instead go to the upper buds that are actually in the light. This also allows more air to circulate under the canopy so that O2 doesnt stratify. This in it self will increase the yields and make your trimming a bit easier. I am not sure everyone will get this analogy but the plant looking up should kinds look like broccoli with everything up top.
